As for the updates themselves, strange to imagine a new show building being up while the old one, which is pretty sizable already (though obviously not for a roller coaster) remains. I suppose that's interesting, though a bit perplexing.
The amount of space Disney needs for a project has increased a lot over the years.

Just watched GotG last night and had the "coaster" idea in my head while I was watching but it didn't make sense. I can see a ride of the movie being like Spider-Man or Transformers at Uni but not a coaster for some reason. But I'm actually hoping more for a coaster, even if it's another theme.

Yeah. I don't know how GOTG = Coaster to those involved in planning. Now Rock n Roller Coaster yeah I suppose so, with the music involved but how would it all work? I feel like coaster is their cheap way of giving us a thrill ride featuring GoTG. Will it slow down for one show scene with a few (or one as seems to be the norm lately) animatronics. Some screens? Trackless seems like a better fit.

Ellen is boring and Bill Nye has turned into an SJW. I wouldn't shed any tears if Universe of Energy got replaced

Theres a scene in GOG 2 that has a coaster feel to it.

There definitely aren't enough thrill rides in Future World East. Let's add one more that'll kill people with pre-existing heart conditions. Maybe two people-killers sandwiched around Wonders of Life will convince them to reopen Wonders of Life with a nice slow Journey Into Heart Disease LPS ride and a series of recumbent bikes that invite guests to "bike" around World Showcase during a simulated Food & Wine?

No?

I saw GOTG 2 and nothing screamed coaster to me. Nothing I saw had me go "wow I want that in a theme park attraction coaster". lol

Coaster is a thrill ride to some and I like most Disney coasters, but I think they're a bit lazy. Certain coasters, no they weren't lazy but now, I think they're looking for something they don't have to overly theme that guests will eat up because "ZOMG COASTER"

The battle scene where they were in the Milano escaping the sovereign with the asteroids and everything could be made into a very good coaster.

I am guessing the flight packs that hurt Drax's nipples would be the conceit for a flying coaster.

No one hates we're getting a Mickey ride. We dislike where it's being placed. It should be a new build in a park that badly needs ADDED rides, not replacements. GMR doesn't deserve to be replaced it deserves a true update. It's a great ride. I probably rode it for the last time on the 18th. I was riding it and just couldn't believe they'd gut all of those great show scenes. The show building is massive. And one parent asked their kids if they liked it, they did and if they wanted to do it next time. I wanted to say "sorry there's no next time but I bet your kid will eat up the Mickey ride" ...

Ah yes. That would work. I guess I don't watch movies looking for things that could be put into a theme park, LOL. I quite enjoyed the movie. But thinking back that would work.

If I had my way, the Mickey ride would be in the old art of animation space. They could make the whole area based on a 1930s cartoon studio with the Hyperion building as the ride facade.

Not really. If they take the effort to make a big Ride based on the history of the Mouse it'll be amazing. Walt would love it. Like he said, "It was all started by a mouse".
That's not what they are building.

Obviously they want GMR to go. It's expensive to run. But the park has too few attractions to be tossing another E-ticket aside. Somehow DL, which does not have the blessing of size, is managing to build Star Wars Land while only removing some goats.
