There is another Strange Marvel Character that I could see in the mix, especially for expanded presence in Epcot's left side...definitely potential for Edutainment
The most obvious one would be Iron Man and the Stark Expo if rights weren't a concern but since they are the whole point is moot.

There are rumblings of a potential Crossover....

Something tells me Frozen would be popular no matter where it was.

So why mess up Epcot even more with it.

Because now all of these parents who may have skipped an Epcot visit are now visiting. I hate FROZEN being in Norway but I know a handful of families that now will visit Epcot because of it, who would have passed over the park before.

Here's a crazy idea, maybe not everything has to appeal to one demographic above all else? If people don't like the park, it isn't made better by turning it into something else to attract those who don't like it.

Exactly. It's a knee jerk reaction to try and get more clicks into a dying park and to hell with theme and story.

Why not try and attract guests with something that wouldn't be found in another park. Or just rename Epcot MK2.0.
I know...it is insanity...and seriously, adding FEA is just one attraction in a huge park... if parents were avoiding EPCOT and now go because of one ride? there are tons of attractions that are great for kids...maybe just not ptincess attractions. I am hoping this is that last one...

Dontcha know we as a society MUST cater to the lowest common denominator now? Think of the poor children whose lives were ruined by going to a theme park and actually learning about the cultures represented in the World Showcase. Remember Disney World is ONLY about princesses and fairytales. Who cares about anything else, so long as the precious children get what they want.

Just out of curiosity ... What learning is done in World Showcase? It's shops, restaurants and booze. That argument doesn't win anymore. The park is dying and needs help. Disney is taking the cheap and quick fix by adding things that no longer belong in a quick effort to get more clicks at the gate.

As far as factual learning, I learned that Norway had oil rigs and polar bears! But apart from that, I think more than "learning" was a strong desire to experience other places and a deeper appreciation for differing cultures. Even as a kid it made me want to explore places like Japan, China, France, heck even Canada!

While I will agree there is not enough, there is beautiful art on display in the Morocco exhibit, I absolutely love the movie about France...Canada has a circle vision film that shows off some of their beautiful country, China has a great film about the country, There is a gallery in Japan that has rotating exhibits...Mexico...has....well that's not a good example, and I think the American Adventure is absolutely amazing... I also enjoy the shopping for fun things... While it is not The Magic Kingdom, it is stilla great park that just needs some dusting off...and a few more appropriate attractions added to the World Showcase...It does not need to change and be a different park...

This really sums it up nicely. I know numerous families who have skipped Epcot on a shorter trip because the other parks had more which appealed to their children. If it came down to it and they could only pick 2 or 3 parks to visit, Epcot was always skipped because there just wasn't much there for the kids. Even on longer trips they'd opt for more time at Magic Kingdom or a day at Universal over Epcot. The allure of Epcot isn't what it once was and some are choosing time at Universal as a result.

I can't say I agree with Frozen being in Norway, but at the same time I see the thought process ("How can we get more families to schedule time in Epcot?") and completely understand it from a business and marketing perspective. From those angles, it's actually extremely smart. That won't sit well with the Epcot purists, but the goal is to appeal to the majority, not the minority.

Absolutely! I must admit it helped create the travel bug in me but that was the early 90's. With that said it is 2016 and it is a different world. Outside of books there was not easy access to different cultures back in the day. That is just the not the case anymore. I can go to my local Asian shop and get half of what is in Epcot snack wise. Heck I can order many Japanese snacks straight to my door in a surprise snack box. My kids go to a school with kids from all over the world and we live in suburbia midwest. If I am curios about a country I can google it or better yet youtube it and see what it is actually like there. I loved World Showcase back in the day but it is just not the same today nor should it be.

Bring on the Disney IP's I say. Frozen was done very well in Norway. I would love to see a Brother Bear ride in Canada or a Ratatouille ride in France. Lady and the Tramp show in Italy. (what do they have there besides a few restaurants anyway?) or a Mulan show in China. My kids would eat this stuff and so would I. Then again I am not holding on to the Disney glory days as that ship has sailed years ago. Figment was botched decades ago and they got rid of Wonders of life so bring on the movies!

Children are a blight and should be seen and not heard.

Certainly we all have different opinions on what "learning" constitutes. Reflections of China, even in its age, is still a wonderful look into the country. The pop culture exhibit in the Japan pavilion is fun. And then we have the American Adventure. Even engaging with the Cast in the countries is a learning experience for me. The best kind of learning are the kinds that are no obvious. You seem like the type of person who is lazy and wants things spoon fed to them, so its not shocking you don't see any educational aspects left in World Showcase.

Give me a break and get off your high horse. You don't know me so don't try and sum me up, because I could do the same to you and it wouldn't be pretty.
