Good morning Kristin!

I'm so jealous that you'll be Christmasing in WDW!

Hey, Betty-licious! I can honestly say that I am really looking forward to it this year. Last year we threw the trip together so last minute, it felt very rushed and hectic. This time, we had time to plan everything and I feel much more ahead of the game than at this point last year. Also, last year's trip felt more like an "escape" from the holiday crap of the previous year, and this year's trip feels more "right", if that makes sense.

And.... I get to meet Dot and George! :sohappy:

Morning, girlies! (And Vince)

DH is off to the tree farm to pick up our tree that we tagged earlier this month. I have never in my life put up a Christmas tree in November before, but since we are leaving for WDW on Dec. 17th we wanted to have time to enjoy it. :xmas:

How are you guys doing today?

'Morning Kristin!
Yay for a real tree...I miss having one.

Yeah. I got treated to dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yummy!

Wow...nice!
Still no turkey, but still not a shabby birthday dinner.

I'm excited for you! I have a friend that's down there right now w/ her family....one of her boys is autistic also. I know she is hoping to see some kind of response from him while there. He's older than Joel, just as smart, not as verbal....and he has a little brother who is just adorable.

A patient I was treating recently is down there now, too. Actually I think they come home today. She was there for 2 weeks... her kids missed a lot of school. I don't think I could pull my kids out for that long. They are older than mine, too. 10 and 8, I think. We paid a little more for airfare to go during Abby's school vacation in April, but to me it was worth it because I didn't want her to miss more school.

They left Thanksgiving day and will be there all next week. The kids are in 3rd and pre-K (the older is autistic), but I don't think they'll miss much - his IEP makes his learning schedule somewhat different. I'm thinking my Abby was in 4th when we were down there at the same time in 2006....if she hadn't been such a good student I wouldn't have even considered it.

Now, if we go Thanksgiving week, they'll only miss 2 days...and the rates are better vs. spring break. However, it depends on our finances next spring...we'll make a final decision then.

You could always buy into DVC.... :lookaroun

 Sorry, I couldn't resist. When will you find out about Mike's uncle's estate? (uncle or grandfather... I'm not sure)

 Yes, there's that....

I have no idea when we will finally find out. First they have to determine how much stuff Mike's grandpa had :dazzle:, then decide what to do about the real estate. He had 40 acres of farmland within easy driving distance to Columbus, so a developer may be interested in it. :shrug:It's really hard to say with the current economy.
I don't envy Mike's aunt and uncle and the job they have ahead of them....he's just touched that he was mentioned in the will, he never expected it. But since his mom is gone, her three boys are named in her place.

Hey gang!

Here's a weird thing...I was cleaning out a trunk the other day (actully, that's kind of weird in and of itself :lookaroun) and I came across some of my old writing. Found one story that I had started about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. So, it was basically a whole teenage vampire romance concept...I rememebr working on it and thinking "This is not gonna work...people won't buy into it and I don't want to rip off Anne Rice" so I dropped the concept.

And how are you all?

It's early.
You've got time to deck the halls.
Mine were decked yesterday. It's Joey's favorite day of the year. She starts jumping around and meowing all over the place as soon as the boxes start coming out. Right now she's parked under the tree. She slept there all evening yesterday, wrapped in the tree skirt.

Awwww! Any pictures?

We have DD's cats here too besides our 2, so there's no way I can even open a closet right now without having to count heads (or tails) every time I close the door. The tree won't go up for another week or 2 anyway, but I'll do some decorating today or tomorrow.

Ooo, nice!:slurp:
