OP, her insecurity is her issue. When my husband and I started dating- in the Stone Age- he had planned to go to a Yes concert. I loved that group and was dying to see them BUT he had made plans to go with his friends and I never said a word to him. She needs to trust that your relationship will be ok if you go. It makes me feel bad for her in a way because it does suck for her not to be able to go but it is what it is. Go and have fun. It may make your relationship stronger. If she pulls the " Well if you go, fill in the blank with a threat, then she needs to hit the road.

Well she's not trying to control me. She thinks me going shows she doesn't mean much to me. My friends would hate me if I didn't go. I'm sure it'll calm down after I'm back. I go on Saturday so can't do much now.

She could be afraid that you will not want to continue your realtionship, reassure her that this is something that you've planned before you met, but that you will be in contact with her through out your vacation.
