The birth of a baby giraffe at the Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort Monday was cause for celebration at the park.

The six-foot-one inch, 150 pound giraffe was born Monday. She’s the fifth giraffe born at Disney's Animal kingdom. The new baby girl, named Rori, and her mother Nikki, are both doing fine and will be on the Disney savannah with the rest of the herd in the next few weeks.

Yes I can, I have a 13 year old son right now.

About the giraffe, its amazing that something that large can be born just a few days ago and already have enough coordination to be up walking around.

It is most definitely amazing that they can walk that soon. However I am still thankful that it takes human babies much longer to walk or crawl. I am quite certain it is genetic to give us first time dads a break-in period. I wouldn't know what to do if my son could have walked at 3 days old, just diapers and formula were enough to have me on edge for a few months!

nice. We saw a baby giraffe at the Memphis zoo in January. Our giraffes at the National Zoo in DC have pretty much died off the last several years. Maybe AK can sell us one.

She is one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I love animals and will keep an eye out for her in a few weeks. Such great news!

Especially................... THE FIRST DIAPER!!! And don't worry, the break in time never ends, we're at 10 and 13, boys and two different minds. A never ending adventure. But enjoy, when you look at pic's of them when they are younger, you will miss them at that age.
