Or maybe people don’t want to be blind consumers of crap even if it’s from someone who entertained them previously. We as consumers don’t owe these people anything. They entertain us, they get our money. They fail to entertain us, they don’t get our money. It’s as simple as that. Feige has clearly lost the touch he had when developing the first ten years of the MCU. I hear Deadpool & Wolverine was good but I’ve become so apathetic to the franchise as a whole that I still haven’t seen it.
Debatable but anyway why do have to hate them for it?

That may be, but the same can be said about almost every long running franchise and their key players. Even the much beloved George R.R. Martin has seen his share of villainy talk from the fans over the years.
Maybe if Martin didn’t go 14 years going in 15 with his “it’s almost done”on the next book schtick fans wouldn’t act they way they do. Over the last 7 of those years he’s realized it’s better to clam up and stop instigating (saw it on his not a blog back in 2018 when fans guessed his ending) and now to the point where he doesn’t say anything.

Sure he doesn’t owe the fans anything, the same time they made him.

For my own part I simply wish he’d admit he doesn’t know how he can finish it now that the TV series was likely close to his ending. There are a host of other factors but that is likely one of the main problems.

I’d have more respect if he admits that and hires someone else to do it. No shame in my opinion but dragging on and on? I’ve read the series multiple times and if he releases it tomorrow I doubt I’ll have much more of a reaction than “meh.”

LucasFilm's new CEO needs to have one talent and one talent only... get someone to finish writing a new theatrical film.

Yeah, it should be good. But let's start with someone actually finishing writing a full script. And then they can choose to film it.

It’s really not that hard to get a movie made

You need someone with a story without their head up Kiri Hart’s behind…

They don’t have one

By that definition you can say almost all Studio heads are "creatives" in some way
That makes it all the more curious as to how Kennedy is so terrible at the creative side.

Sorry couldn't resist 😉

It's ok to criticize the company for what they produce. It doesn't anyone more of a fan to stick up or make excuses for when something is sub par. At this point, Disney is at a, prove it to me, place. The benefit of the doubt is gone. But the reason most are here is because the love Disney and what it was. Do people here hate on Iger, Kennedy, Damaro..... Of course, they're taking heat for their decisions. As they should.

I think we need to make it clear that hating for decisions =/= hating as a person.

I hate Kathleen Kennedy as the president of LucasFilm. As a person? Don’t know, never met her.

I never said anyone wasn’t a fan. criticize what ever you want by all means. but they have done good things too and people are too quick to forget that imo
Who said anything about hating him? I wasn’t using “villain” literally. Just using a popular phrase.
I wasn’t thinking of the word villain when I wrote that.

Exactly, that's why I said for their decisions. Like you, I've never met any of these people so who knows if they're jerks. As I've said, you can't take away her success as a producer. It's a hall of fame list of credits to her name. Unfortunately star wars is not one of them for me.

But you asked why do we have to hate them. I was explaining the why. We hate the decisions not the person. At least in mine and a few others case. Too often around here, criticism results in, I thought you were a fan, or why are you even here? It's because it's ok to criticize the decisions that are being made and still be a fan of Disney.

As far as the, they've done good things comment. I've criticized Kennedy over her decisions as much as anyone. But I've given credit for things like rogue one, mando season 1&2, and even the force awakens until last Jedi came along. I even gave props to Solo. But her tenure is littered with terrible decisions. There's a lot more bad than good. As far as Iger, I look back and compare is my experience gotten better over his tenure or worse? And that answer is a resounding worse. But again, I've given the credit where credit was due.

I think the reason why people say “I thought you were a fan!” Or “ why are you even here!” Is because sometimes the negativity starts to get to people and they say something like that in an attempt to make themselves feel better. I’ve been there myself a few times but I usually stop just short of posting about it .

But in any case I do appreciate your perspective. Thanks for sharing.

Can I be a disappointed fan that's not satisfied with the current quality and viewpoint shifts that the products display ? The comedian Lewis Grizzard published a book whose title is apropos for lots of Star Wars Fans observations for the Kennedy era "They ripped out my heart and stomped that sucker flat".
