With everything else that's going on, I really can't see them doing anything to Tower of Terror for the foreseeable future, UNLESS Scarlett Johannsen's movie goes BOFFO.Does anyone know how much they have to pay each year for the name? Would it even be cost effective to remove the name and retheme an extremely successful and well loved attraction?
Personally if it was more than about $10 million I would be shocked, and even more than $5 million at this point would be weird considering Disney is literally one of the few reasons this property remains in America's consciousness after the attempt at a reboot flopped...Does anyone know how much they have to pay each year for the name? Would it even be cost effective to remove the name and retheme an extremely successful and well loved attraction?
Thanks! I hate it!Villains Land at Studios replacing Animation Courtyard and encompassing RNRC and ToT who both get rethemes to finally remove the liscensing rights.
Not a great idea....and there is absolutely no reason to change it... I am sure the licensing right for a long dead TV series are not consequential...they probably spend more on coffee stirrers....Villains Land at Studios replacing Animation Courtyard and encompassing RNRC and ToT who both get rethemes to finally remove the liscensing rights.
Not to get anyone worried, but someone just saw Charita Carter and Carmen Smith wandering around DHS’s Tower of Terror with notepads.
Wasn’t that a joke??! @Tha RealestSaw this in the Tiana's thread a few days ago and was wondering if it could mean anything substantial-
Len Testa was talking once about the end of life of some part of the ride system and that such would require removing the roof to work with cranes from above. Some time before 2030 I believe. If that's true I don't think it reopens the same.
Let's get ready for Rod Serlings haunted elevator mishap.Saw this in the Tiana's thread a few days ago and was wondering if it could mean anything substantial-
I sincerely can’t tell if this is parody, well done if it isWell..., I wouldn't hold my breath that this might be the beginning of the end of the current TOT for possibly a re-theme of the ride featuring, I might be the first to call it right now, BIG CITY GREENS(like the Chibi Tiny Tales short)
Why does it feel like all of my visits are turning into “this is the last time I’m going to be able to ride *insert doomed attraction here* before they reimagine it?”Saw this in the Tiana's thread a few days ago and was wondering if it could mean anything substantial-
or a retheme to the 1997 disney channel movieLet's get ready for Rod Serlings haunted elevator mishap.
More likley they would tie it in to that Scarlett Johansson movie they're supposedly still making.or a retheme to the 1997 disney channel movie
That's the best case scenario for me. If TZ has to go, then why not just do what Tokyo did and make an original story about a haunted mask or artifact possessing the tower. All they'd have to change is the music and the fifth dimension room, which could easily be done by filling that space with some new effects or an animatronic to go with the new storyline.I think the question is if Tower of Terror is going away. To me, that’s different than Twilight Zone. They can absolutely remove the Twilight Zone theme and have it still be Tower or Terror independent from TZ with a new, original story. I really hope that’s what happens rather than a whole new IP
While not impossible, highly unlikely given the IP mandate.then why not just do what Tokyo did and make an original story about a haunted mask or artifact possessing the tower
Yeah I think Disney wants out of the Twilight Zone theme since they don't want to have to pay CBS a licensing fee. I think they are hoping that the movie (again if it's still in development) will be successful enough to drop Twilight Zone. Disney knows they will have to tread very carefully if the decide to retheme it. DCAs retheme worked out but it was around for only 10 years Hollywood Studios has been around for 30.While not impossible, highly unlikely given the IP mandate.
