This incident happened to my 30-something year old sister and her husband less than a month ago at Epcot.
My sister's husband's sister (her sister-in-law) and her husband visited Disney World for the first time. They live in London. They've read all the books, watched the videos, everything. They entered the park through the back entrance that connects the World Showcase to the Boardwalk area. They walk up to where the countries are and my sister says something to the effect of "this is it!" They kept asking "Where's Disney World? I don't see it." She kept saying "we're in it...see, there's the UK pub, there's France..." They didn't believe her, yet they were standing in the middle. Apparently, they thought that was just a shopping area. They thought that the entire Epcot park was INSIDE THE BALL. They're in their 30s, they read the books and saw the videos, yet they thought everything was inside the ball. They had referred to the whole place as a "big fair" while planning it. They had noooooooooo idea, even though everyone kept telling them it is basically its own city.
That still cracks me up...Disney World inside the ball...oh my! :hammer:
