My favorites after let it go are first time in forever reprise, and Frozen heart and do you want to build a snowman. Part of your issue is that you haven't seen the film, like broadway songs they really only live up to measure when seen in person or at least with the visual. Especially for the first time in forever and its reprise and do you want to build a snowman. (Considering how half of that song is just visual storytelling)

I've listened to a lot of musical soundtracks and enjoyed them even though I have never seen the show. I love the soundtrack for Wicked but still haven't seen it on stage. Guess I'll have to wait until I get a chance to see the movie to judge.

I mean, we're not saying that that's the case for every musical soundtrack. I was also obsessed with the Wicked soundtrack before I saw the show. But I guarantee that if you see Wicked, the songs take on a new life. Its like someone quoting a scene from a movie that you've never seen. You don't really get it until you see it.

These songs really do lend themselves to visuals, Do you want to build a snowman especially. I still think the soundtrack is fantastic, although if I had to pick a song I didn't dig that much its In summer. But that's just me!

Yes but even so listening the album you don't get an appreciation for whats going on other than maybe a catchy hook here and there. Let it go can be listened to without having seen the film, the rest on the album not so much. With wicked there are more songs as well, some that are the It song for a character such as popular.

I bit the bullet and finally watched Frozen the other night. I gotta say, it's pretty friggin cute. Definitely another Disney movie that's made for kids but equally enjoyed by adults. Looking forward to seeing that WDW has from the movie when we arrive next month.

From the AP article on the Best Song rehearsals - http://bigstory.ap.org/article/pharrell-u2-idina-menzel-rock-oscar-rehearsals#Oscars

"Menzel was awed by the technology that allowed the Oscar orchestra, playing off-site at the Capitol Records building, to coordinate with her live at the Dolby Theatre.

"Hi, Bill, can you hear me?" she said into the microphone at conductor William Ross, whom she could see on a monitor from inside the theater. "I'm trying to get that telepathic vibe with you because I'm alone up here and this is my first time (on the Oscars).

"You look very handsome," she added."

I didn't see the movie yet...but you can bet when it comes out on DVD/Amazon Digital I will be! I just started listening to some of the songs today...normally I'm not a big "princess" movie fan...but it reminds me of the Disney movies when I was growing up (back in the "Disney renaissance" or whatever they term the late 80's-90's.)

You don't have to wait long it will be available on March 18th. Disney has really shortened the time between theatrical and DVD releases.

From Vanity Fair -

Oscar producers have guaranteed that you won’t miss a single belted note of Menzel’s performance and have trucked in a mountain of Swarorvski crystals to make sure the set is as dazzling as the song. So if you’re momentarily blinded by the glittery glare of the stage, just close your eyes, let the music wash over you, and let it go.

$1,000,236,000 to be exact. Another $63 million and it will surpass Toy Story 3 as the highest grossing animated film of all time. I would post celebratory gifs, but I will wait until tonight, when Frozen has the triumphant trio of Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, Best Original Song, and the Billionaire Club. What a great day for Frozen fans.
