@Magenta Panther This one is for you bud. EVIL Elsa in all her glory, deleted scene from frozen. I guess the decision to not have her be a villain really was late in the game. I am interested in this other film however as it seems to really stray from the final cut, although I heard that even though elsa went dark she was always going to be redeemed somehow.

The created the version of Frozen we see in 18 months. They finally figured Elsa out at that point when the song Let It Go was turned in.

In case you missed it, Good Morning America hosted a nationwide "Let It Go" sing-a-long, and it was rather amazing. I know countless covers have been made, but seeing all those people gathered in Times Square and abroad gave me chills. If this doesn't win Best Original Song, I think the public will be highly upset. Lol.

It was neat but the singing was a bit off sync of the song from time to time. Also the sound was not good when they went to Idina singing. The fact that so many people know the words is amazing to me. I wished they had showed the ice skaters more it looked like they have a cute routine.

Oh definitely, the singing wasn't the best. I was more so calling the whole spectacle of it all amazing. I mean, how long has it been since the general population has embraced a Disney song on this scale?

The last Disney number #1 was You'll be in my Heart. But personally this is the biggest embracing of a Disney song by the general public I think in my life time.

Here is a list of the top Disney charted songs since the 60s http://www.billboard.com/articles/c.../ask-billboard-disneys-biggest-billboard-hits

It was nice to see everyone so in love with this song and film! I agree I think people are really going to be upset if this one doesn't win.

The viral nature of the film has been an incredible source of marketing for the movie, and Disney made a brilliant call not sending out the lawyers to shut things.

But all the blu-ray extras prior to release? That's not really viral marketing.. that's just losing the exclusivity

I haven't seen the movie yet, but listened to the soundtrack the other day. With the exception of Let it Go, I really wasn't impressed with the soundtrack. Nothing else in it really grabbed me.
My favorites after let it go are first time in forever reprise, and Frozen heart and do you want to build a snowman. Part of your issue is that you haven't seen the film, like broadway songs they really only live up to measure when seen in person or at least with the visual. Especially for the first time in forever and its reprise and do you want to build a snowman. (Considering how half of that song is just visual storytelling)

That might be your problem, there. ;) Lol, but seriously, hearing the songs in the context of the movie helps a ton. They're really done in the musical style where they go hand in hand with the story and visuals. I have listened to many a musical soundtrack where a song didn't really grab me until I heard it during the show.

Exactly^ Like I said the film plays out like a broadway show, and these songs rely on that principle where half of its heart is in the visuals.

It's a different kind of Disney musical film where the songs are a part of moving the story and characters forward. I love that because it's different than the Disney films of the past where you have the standard "I Want This" song, showstopper, and love ballad/duet. Frozen has those elements, but it also uses music as part of the storytelling, not stopping the movie for a song & dance number. And I think that's what I love the most about it.
