Frozen

All I know is that if I, after watching your film, want to use the setting and concepts therein to run a Dungeons & Dragons game, then YOU WIN AT FILMMAKING.

I had to chime in a few days late.

I have always love The Snow Queen (the original story.) I was terribly disappointed that Disney would now never make that story into a movie. I was preparing myself for disappointment with Frozen. I still feel the loss of Howard Ashman, and later, Andreas Deja and Glen Keane. I thought that '90s feeling was over, as someone said in this thread.

My daughter was most excited about the snowman. I hated the trailers with the snowman and reindeer.

I was wrong... this is not The Snow Queen, but it's the Disney movie I've been waiting for for oh, 17 years or so.

The music, amazing. Combining Kai and the Snow Queen into one character, brilliant. The resolution of the story, revolutionary.

My daughter sings the music from morning to night. That has never happened in her lifetime with a Disney film. I already saw it twice and want to go see this at least a couple more times... I haven't done that with a film since seeing The Lion King 7 or 8 times in college.

Magenta, I am often with you on a lot of things, so I think you should give Frozen a chance.

True. But, how many times does Olaf have to say "butt" before the joke gets old?
Funny, I never felt they overplayed it. Also LOVED the delivery of the line "I don't have a skull" - I was laughing so loud.
On a completely different note, aside from the obvious humming of "Let It Go" I cannot stop replaying Love Is An Open Door or For the First Time (especially the reprise). The soundtrack is warming it's way to my heart quickly.

This is the best soundtrack that Disney has produced for a movie in quite a while.

Did you like the troll's Fixer Uper tune? I find myself replaying that over and over and the lyrics just slay me. I didn't catch them all in the movie (the first time) but the more I listen the more I laugh out loud.

My favorite Olaf line was the one where he asked about the name of the big donkey, and then asked for the name of the Reindeer. I realized that it was 30 minutes later in the film when he realized that Kristov's name wasn't Sven.

I have new dream Frozen must come to Broadway and all the main voice cast from the movie must reprise their roles! Sadly it will never happen.

I liked where the reindeer's tongue was stuck to the railing of the ice palace's entry steps. You know it had to happen to someone at least once in the movie.

And talking about music, the snowman singing about wanting to be warm...hilarious. :D I think this time Disney nailed it for an excellent movie.

Absolutely. I think the film is a lock for Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature; granted, the latter isn't nearly so impressive as it's only real competition is Monsters University, though the Academy DOES love Pixar.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if this film also gets a nod for Best Picture, now that the Oscars have 10 nominations in that category instead of 5.

I totally agree with you that Frozen should at least be nominated for Best Picture, besides Best Animated Movie.
