JØTUL should get in on the action and slightly modify their sign hanging over the disembarkation dock (is the sign even still there? I have no idea):

FROZEN?
You don't have to be!

Saw them both. Liked them both.

Here's the difference - saw DM2 three times; saw Frozen once.
Hubby was quite willing to see DM2 again. He hated Frozen.

And yes, it may be "Let it Go" that I walk around singing very badly, but it's Minion merchandise that I seek. I have a Minion figurine sitting on my desk at work. I have a Minion case for my iPhone. And I have a Minion ring tone, that I actually paid for.

I think Uni is quite happy with the success of the DM franchise. And me, I can't wait for the Minion movie - sadly postponed from Christmas 2014 to Spring 2015.

So thinking about a possible Frozen ride...how epic would it be for a trackless ride system that used a lift and drop...mid way to climb up and with the crescendo of "Let it Go" drop into an ice rink as pillars rise around you...it would be awesome

Please no. Next thing they will do is remove half of UK to add a Brave ride.

.....actually ...I think ...next up on the UK agenda:

  • Start serving Gorton's fish-sticks at the Rose & Crown and QS food window
  • Seek sponsorship with big yellow slicker-clad fisher-dude pasted on every square foot of available UK wall space
  • "Chips" ...to be replaced with Tater-Tots.

They never did much for the Lion King and that was just as, if not more, successful.
What ? there is a whole show based around it in the Animal Kingdom. There is also a broadway play. Also a whole movie at epcot with the lion king characters. Also a chunk of mickeys philharmagic.

I haven't read through the entire thread. Has anyone mentioned turning the old WoL pavilion into the weather pavilion many people have discussed? Would a Frozen theme work there? Talking about climate change or what not? I'd rather take that than changing existing attractions.

HKDL has the FOTLK show too right? Plus almost every show on DCL features a Lion King segment

Let's not forget the parades and extinct attractions - "The Lion King Celebration" parade at Disneyland and the "Legend of the Lion King" attraction at the Magic Kingdom. Even, Illuminations got in on it - Illuminations 25 was HALF "Circle of Life" - yeah, Lion King was EVERYWHERE!

The Animal Kingdom show came 4 years after the film came out. Fitting the theme seems like a bigger factor than how popular it was/is. Philharmagic was 9 years later. Nothing really came straight away after the movie and it still doesn't exactly have a huge presence in the parks.

Actually, no it doesn't. The actual lyrics are this-

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where it's flat and immense
And the heat is intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down
Stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Arabian night

Arabian nights
Like Arabian days
More often than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lotta good ways

Arabian nights
'Neath Arabian moons
A fool off his guard
Could fall and fall hard
Out there on the dunes

The song is sung by the Peddler, the narrator of the story, and he says it's HIS home. He does not say that Arabia is the area where Agrabah is and, even if he did, he's an unreliable narrator at best (remember, he's telling you this story so you buy the crappy lamp he's trying to foist off on you).
These are the revised lyrics. I seem to remember where there used to be something about cutting off your hand...
