Frozen just won Best Animated Feature!!!!
The film just grossed 1 billion today, the movie won 2 academy awards, it's now one of the most highly acclaimed films from WDAS and unlike some of the other films they have produced it seems to be very much in the public's minds. Meaning everyone is going to be asking when will something materialize into the parks for frozen, and I don't think they are going to want to hear nothing or no, its not just us die hards anymore. Frozen has become a beast of its own.Since FROZEN Got the Oscars this year.Wait For a few months for WD parks and resorts for their announcement of FROZEN Attraction.
Should that not be all the more reason to do it right? The film just grossed 1 billion today, the movie won 2 academy awards, it's now one of the most highly acclaimed films from WDAS and unlike some of the other films they have produced it seems to be very much in the public's minds. Frozen just won Best Animated Feature!!!!
Oh of course, I just meant that this ride is something that I feel is going to happen. Should have clarified. Perhaps even after seeing how much people want from this film they will realize norway is too small for the type of plans people wish to see. I can't count how many people I have heard say they want to walk inside elsa's ice palace.Should that not be all the more reason to do it right?
Can you say Frozen 2 on the way....Frozen just won Best Animated Feature!!!!
Why would Disney want to look like they are copying SeaWorld? If it happens, which im sure it will, I bet we finally see Disney's trackless used in WDW. And although not better than TS3, can we not be happy for once Disney animated is back?!?!?
Frozen and Tangled (especially) deserve the accolades they have received. Honestly Pixar is running on reputation these last couple years
Why would Disney want to look like they are copying SeaWorld?
Not exactly facing stiff competition
Maelstrom is the oldest ride in Epcot, meaning it's the only one that's never been altered or re-done in the 25 years it's been there. Plus boat rides are expensive to maintain, people walk out on the film at the end, and Norway already has a Princess breakfast and a M&G... To me this all adds up to Maelstrom, as it currently stands, probably won't last forever
Let's hope not. It needs SOMETHING, ANYTHING. Not an audio upgrade, not an AA upgrade, but something BIG to make that thing worth while. As of now, it's a minute and a half of crap.
Really? Maelstrom is a classic Disney dark ride, and it fits perfectly in World Showcase. Everything needs cleaning and mechanical/electrical upgrades from time to time, and effects upgrades are always good, but a minute and a half of crap? No way. What EPCOT is missing is leadership who understands the value of a high quality attraction versus the perceived value of forcing some currently popular IP into an existing ride that doesn't need to be cartoonified.
From the other side of the argument: Frozen just won best animated film...and all it would get is a rethemed ride that was built in 1988? For the Frozen champions inside Disney, they should push for a new ride somewhere that it makes sense (like Fantasyland). Even Tangled got a bathroom in Fantasyland...and all Frozen gets is an overlay on a 26 year old ride? That seems too little for Frozen. "You just won the Super Bowl MVP, and now you get a used, 26 year old Chevrolet Cavalier that we re-painted and replaced the tape deck with a CD player!"
Either way, leave Maelstrom alone. If it is important to have Frozen in the parks, figure out somewhere else that it could go, with a custom designed attraction that does the film justice.
