We live in a much smaller world than in 1982. Much much smaller. So I would suggest that the cultural significance of World Showcase can now only impact the youngest of families which character based attractions appeal to. That is why some suggest IaSW would be a much better fit for WS.

And of course, in the evenings offerings more geared to adults could be added. Not so much as something of a cultural exchange but rather a chance to try new food and beverage and just relax in a romantic atmosphere.

It would be very popular. Both during the day and evenings.
And yet there's still plenty of people who can't afford to visit the other countries now represented in the WS (as I'm sure you can sympathize). Giving them a small sample of each sans characters can still offer great appeal....

That is what the evening events would be for. Hello? :bored:

That's like saying many can't visit an authentic frontier town like Tombstone or some other tourist spot, so we should pull the Country Bears out of Frontierland.

Evening events (of which there's already one) don't have to include characters to be family oriented....

Even leehisownself has said WDW needs more offerings for adults without children. My plan would provide that.

No, that's like saying the WS was designed to allow visitors to sample other countries and their cultures without having Disney characters thrown in their face at every turn....
I know I'm probably in the minority here but I love the idea of rides and or attractions in each country.

Now you are just contradicting yourself.

No, I'm not. I just understand that EP can offer plenty to both adults and children without having characters at every turn. Especially for those (such as yourself) without the financial wherewithal to visit those countries....

Most of the countries at WS already have character meet and greets and offer kid's activities during the day... how much more do we really need in the way of "kid friendly" attractions out there? Many enjoy going to WS for the environment it provides... turning it into an international version of the Magic Kingdom during the day would only force people to pay the upcharge to be able to enjoy the wind down event (to be able to enjoy a more adult-centered WS) because, let's face it, that's not going anywhere anytime soon. Even if they did do away with the wind downs and make late nights at WS more flexible, if we're only talking from dusk until midnight, in the summer that's about three hours, which is hardly enough time to fully take in all of WS if one is wanting to take their time.

I do think that there could be more in the way of attractions in WS... dark rides, boat rides, whatever... but I don't feel like they need to include references to characters in order to be successful or to capture the interest of children.

Now it's "might." I suppose using Lee's name wasn't quite the talisman you expected....

I just do not make assumptions for him. He has said he wants more adult offerings. Not sure how he feels about WS being the ideal locale. Nice try at deflecting from the subject.

No, he said more adult offerings at WDW, in your own words. And I believe that discussion was actually centered on PI/HW/DS, not EP.....

Your plan is a disgusting cash grab who's message is basically "want to experience World Showcase as it was originally intended without characters? Stay late and pay us money!!!!!"

How is upgrading or adding attractions to nearly every pavilion a "cash grab"?

Not to mention my suggestion for a new parade and upgraded nightly fireworks.

Uh, no. He has said they need to be offered somewhere on property if not DTD. And at least as good as PI offered. Specifically the AC.

And yet he didn't specify EP. See you on the parks soon. And by soon I mean perhaps before the end of the decade. Or the next....
