Yeah, some hosts aren't very into it, or are poorly selected for the roles, but the 'storyline' is a draw to many. I wouldn't want them to drop it. It's harmless and fun, but if they wanted to they COULD do away with the hosts I guess. I'd rather they didn't.

Well, they COULD do away with anything if they wanted to whether its a bad idea or not, i.e. Frozen overlay of maelstrom;)

Along with a lot of reconfiguration changes apparently between load/unload and the theater, so its not only the ride itself but everything before and after. Spirit mentioned something about a new movie where Olaf narrates a tour of today's Norway, but have a feeling they are going to end up using that space for an extended reworked switched queue/load/unload instead and gone will be the theater. Otherwise were looking at lines stretching from Norway to Italy. They couldn't handle the meetngreet, they are goign to have to do something better unless they are just that blind and dont care (which wouldnt surprise me). But one won't be able to get near the place.
Agreed. Likely they will need some major changes to the queue and load/unload or things will get out of hand. Unfortunately there's no easy way to expand or lengthen the ride itself. One thing they could do is reconfigure the queue so that it enters from some of the backstage areas to the side of and/or behind the show building.

Keep/refurb Poppins, Oz, Indy, Alien, westerns scene, Gone with the Wind, add in Pirates (they should have just stuck that Legend of Jack Sparrow in there and have him talk to the guests that way or whatever he does), put Disney's Tarzan in the Tarzan section, update the finale film with more of a Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Lucasfilm presence to showcase what they are capable of.

Doesn't seem super difficult to update the ride but maintain the feel of the original.

I'd love for them to just change the the characters in this scene, without changing the entire section, or bringing light to the fact they changed them. Unlike they did over at MK with POTC.... But that's a different thread entirely.

The Movie ride is so outdated, Disney really needs to update it using Star Wars, Pirates, Pixar, Tangled, Frozen, Disney Princesses and Villains. While they are at it, add Steamboat Willie, update Indy and Poppins, get a celebrity to narrate, and remove the live hosts and lame storyline.

Update the Movie ride already!!! :)
I like the movie ride and agree it needs major updates, but I think they need a great Disney animation ride that show the major motion pictures that made Disney famous, they could put everything in and show the advances in the craft of full length animation films

Holy crap! You're actually dissing a Disney attraction? Hell must have FROZEN over! (Thanks Elsa.)

In all honesty that ride does need some serious refurbing and maybe a few new scenes to replace things like Footlight Parade, Tarzan, Fantasia, and Singin' In the Rain.

As for Maelstrom, looks like TDO is going to go cheap on us and overlay it with Frozen. I really wish this wasn't the case. With as rabid as the fans are with that franchise, it needs a BIG attraction that eats crowds as well as has a good long queue. Norway and Maelstrom are far from ideal.

Just a Question,

Has anyone official from Disney said or a report from Disney themselves, report they are going to do a over lay? or replace Maelstrom totally?

Or are we all discussing the usual rumor mill from bogs and alleged insider information etc?

Just asking!

The heck would TDO do with the way Maelstrom begins? Have an Elsa head sing "Let It Go" while she flashes her Gazer Beam eye at you? :p
No, but that lift hill could be an amazing blizzard vortex drawing you into the story... With walls of swirling snowflakes live snow flurries, wind and such, the gazer eye would no longer be necessary and maybe another character could narrate... drawing you into the story... It could be spectacular if done properly...

There are a few Disney attractions that I dislike and skip on a regular basis. Four that immediately come to mind are Jungle Cruise, Stitch, Universe of Energy, and The Land. Lights, Motor, Action and Indy stunt shows aren't my thing either.

Thanks Mike, I looed back in a number of sites and those discussing this really only had rumors from *insider info* to go on.

We will have to see what really happens in the end.

question, why is the meetngreet portion of puffins roost that use to be part the store, still shuttered and not a store again by now?? between that and the ugly tarps around the still nonworking waterfall, and the removal of all the trees and plants that use to be in the courtyard,,,,the place is a ugly mess.

To be fair, the 'nonworking waterfall' was under refurb. And, the walls are down and they are repainting that rock work now. But you're right, they shouldn't do those things because it's an ugly mess.

Not that I dislike your idea, but I liked it better when Imagineering went like, "I have a cool idea!" - "Okay, how can we do that?" Not, "Okay, what have we got?" - "I guess we could make that a XYZ."
