"Rush job" in this case being directed at the assumed sloppily-added characters into existing show scenes (a la Grand Fiesta Tour) and lack of compelling story (The Seas with Nemo and Friends).

While anything is possible I still think there's only a remote shot that they would build a second Frozen ride if there is already one at EPCOT.

Theyre not even "building" anything for the first attempt at a Frozen attraction, I highly doubt a second attraction would yield a budget to build anything new...but dont worry, get the wet wipes ready as full grown men and woman will be involuntarily excrementing in their Old Navy blue jeans upon hearing the news that Frozen AA's will be added to an existing attraction.

Yeah, I use the term "building" pretty loosely. Technically they will be building some AAs (or subcontracting someone else to). Maybe the AAs will be well done at least like Mine Train.

If they wanted to do it right they could just offer to buy the whole Antarctica ride from Sea World and move it to WDW. Trackless ride system, plenty of snow and ice and they could add in some Frozen characters. The ride itself is a small notch above terrible, but mainly because there is no story or point to it. Sea World needs cash to fight the bad PR from the documentary. It's a win/win for everyone.

It's not even been announced that frozen is replacing maelstrom and I'm not betting the house on what stories spirit likes to stir up

Based on the huge success of frozen they would be better off building a frozen land at DHS, but be sure it's not all glittery princess stuff for girls...use Sven and Olaf for maybe a sled ride along with an oakens post store etc. Lots of possibilities and this would help spread out crowds more (People will argue this belongs in fantasyland but MK can't hold everything)

Not a bad idea, but until a sequel or related spin-off media come, I don't think there's quite enough in the movie yet for a full blown land, especially when people are clamoring for things like a Star Wars Land.

I think it could work fine in DHS. They could convert the LM show to Frozen plus build a dark ride and gift shop in one of the unused buildings near Animation Courtyard. Then either retheme an existing restaurant (Hollywood Brown Derby?) or build a new one that would have both character dining and/or a meet and greet. Now you have a significant Frozen presence and you only had to add 1 ride building while repurposing a restaurant and a show. Not breaking the bank but giving the movie what it deserves. This could also help to bridge the gap and draw crowds during construction of Star Wars Land on the other side of the park.

I agree. If the rumor that they are closing the ride for 18 months is true, then the rumor that it's just an overlay must not be true, in my opinion.

I think when people refer to it as an overlay it's kinda a derogatory way to say done on the cheap. Like calling Mine Train a kiddie coaster is a way to put that ride down. Why I think it will only take 18 months is they are not going to make many changes to the ride vehicles or the ride itself. The way I understand the rumor is they are planning to just strip out the show scenes and replace them with Frozen scenes and AAs. A new ride would take Disney more than 18 months. I expect this to be far more extensive than a true overlay like when they add Christmas stuff to a ride (like Jungle Cruise this year).

Those are great ideas and it's certainly true that will probably need to rebalance the park if they go big with Star Wars.

The Movie ride is so outdated, Disney really needs to update it using Star Wars, Pirates, Pixar, Tangled, Frozen, Disney Princesses and Villains. While they are at it, add Steamboat Willie, update Indy and Poppins, get a celebrity to narrate, and remove the live hosts and lame storyline.

Update the Movie ride already!!! :)

I agree, but its not like all scenes need updating, and the story is what makes the ride IMO. However, an idea I had is that, while it wouldn't work because of space, what about a movie ride where there are multiple show scene rooms and not all are in the same show, except for the commandeer of the cart and the indy, and so you never know which scenes you will see/travel through?

Keep/refurb Poppins, Oz, Indy, Alien, westerns scene, Gone with the Wind, add in Pirates (they should have just stuck that Legend of Jack Sparrow in there and have him talk to the guests that way or whatever he does), put Disney's Tarzan in the Tarzan section, update the finale film with more of a Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Lucasfilm presence to showcase what they are capable of.

Doesn't seem super difficult to update the ride but maintain the feel of the original.

Along with a lot of reconfiguration changes apparently between load/unload and the theater, so its not only the ride itself but everything before and after. Spirit mentioned something about a new movie where Olaf narrates a tour of today's Norway, but have a feeling they are going to end up using that space for an extended reworked switched queue/load/unload instead and gone will be the theater. Otherwise were looking at lines stretching from Norway to Italy. They couldn't handle the meetngreet, they are goign to have to do something better unless they are just that blind and dont care (which wouldnt surprise me). But one won't be able to get near the place.

They would have to, IMO, rework the queue/load/unload. Even when/if popularity wanes, I can still see it being popular enough.

True, my hope is in all this that even though its going the way of Frozen, I hope it retains a Norwegian aspect in the theme/design/storyline somehow, and not just a girly princess theme or wheres olaf story.

I'd like to see it go into AK where Finding Nemo musical is. I think a replacement for that show would be good or Beauty and the Beast show at DHS.

they could do just the same as the muppets show.
have screens with an animatronic olak narrating as the queu moves.
it entertains the queue, and doesn't use much space.
