Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

I watched the frozen extras on DVD, and apparently there was a frozen ride concept art a long long time ago. Maybe with the popularity of it they will be it to life!!!
That was for The Snow Queen, which inspired Frozen but is still a bit different. There was also work done on a Snow Queen stage show for Tokyo DisneySEA.

What about a Frozen redo of Maelstrom.
:depressed: That has been discussed plenty.

I haven't heard anything about this and the folks I've checked with know nothing about it.

The Premiere Theater is tiny as well. It would seem to me that it would make more people upset *who couldn't get in to see it) than it would be worth,

The stage is also pretty small for any kind of elaborate production.

My friends have said AIE would be used for Jedi Training, but I would think Frozen would be a much better use (if the theater is bigger than the Premier). There's absolutely no reason they HAVE to move Jedi Training.

Good point about the size of the theatre, the M&G madness reveals the current level of interest...

But thinking forward - there should ALWAYS be a third show staged (whether in the PT or in the AIE location). Frozen now, and then...when the next hit comes along...that one. A smallish show can be cast and staged relatively quickly (Lord knows MUCH more quickly than a ride can be built ;)) and changed out when the numbers drop. If no big hit is available - don't close a theatre in a park that DESPERATELY needs attractions. Instead, stage a "Disney's Greatest Songs" show like one you might see on a DCL ship. People would eat that up! There could be internet voting for songs to be included, requests...it'd be money in the bank. And something for older folks and little kids, to boot.

To chime in on Jedi - if you've ever made the mad dash with a son to sign up for JTA - you'd know that increased capacity would be MUCH appreciated. Even getting to the park (in early December) 45 minutes before opening, and hot-footing it to the sign up - my kid got the midday show. By the time the CM took his name, they had cut the queue off. The park wasn't even "officially" open yet. :jawdrop: Oh, just occurred to me, can you FP+ JTA now?

And one more about JTA...my kid and I go to the LEGOLAND (Windsor) Star Wars weekend every year. There are lots and lots of ADULTS doing (the LEGOLAND version of) JTA (I won't lie, I was judging a little :p). Presumably DHS could do that as well, if capacity were increased. Lots of $$$ to be made from selling merchandise with that one, I'd bet. :greedy:

War and Peace again, sorry...

The thought that intrigues me is why they would put together a show and fireworks to run for only two or three months? Unless the suits at TDO are so badly out of touch they think the interest in Frozen will diminish by fall.

I like this idea, hope they pay proper attention to quality in a 'rushed' effort and don't try to do this 'on the cheap' too much, but DHS needs a permanent Frozen presence.

Offering different types of 'Frozen' themed experiences to various Parks increases the chances of Guests wanting to visit the other Parks...as in, spend out more for Park Hoppers.
Even if not looking at it from that angle, it would likely have enough pull to get bodies into DHS and split the masses converging on MK right now in hopes of partaking in the 'Frozen' M&G.

It also allows those who are huge fans of the film a alternative option to see/hear their favorite characters without having to wait in a 4 hour M&G line.
This is a good move in helping to address the massive popularity of the IP and creating a little positive PR with Guests.
Instead of the disappointment of 'little Suzy' not meeting Anna and Elsa at the MK, she can at least see them on stage performing before her eyes over at DHS.

Disneyland just started such a 'alternative experience' for it's Guests this past week with the addition of the 'Frozen' pre-parade float.
It was specifically added to try to ease the Guest issues with the limited availability of the characters.
Having them appear on a re-purposed float helps ease some of that disappointment for some.

Although i am not at all a fan of the film or characters, i am fairly sure Guests in general would be happy with any 'Frozen' related entertainment options.
I personally like the suggestions being made about a stage show much better then doing a quick-n-cheap overlay on a exsisting ( and for some, classic Attraction ) over at EPCOT.

Thanks for sharing the news @PhotoDave219 . You've had quite an active week with Diagon Alley event and dropping Frozen bombs. This means Frozen will have a large presence in 3 parks at WDW if Maelstrom layover is a go. Hopefully they pull it off without over saturating it. Whether its knee jerk reactions to Potter or not, it would be great to see them loosen the purse strings and build something new and amazing for this movie while cutting their teeth on these smaller scale events.

Still iffy about the fireworks, but a stage show would be a nice addition at DHS, especially if done on Aladdin DCA scale, but this is a limited engagement, right? So that's probably a no.
I think the fireworks would be a great addition and will be a good way to keep people in the park till close, and I agree stage show will be a great addition

Does Fantasmic not keep people in the park until close most nights? I'm not sure of park hours in the winter when Fantasmic is earlier, but I know how packed out that show is during the summer. I wonder how the fireworks might impact the timing of the Fantasmic shows, or vice versa.

As Fantasmic ends, the main show starts..

I agree entirely. Cough cough Star Wars land.

Okay, you just joined today, so lemmie catch you up to speed.

Its the beginning of 4Q/FY2014. Budget time where the company has excess money to spend and is proposing things for next year's CapEx FY2015. Rumors of things are coming out of the woodwork and while not immediately discounted, should be taken with a grain of salt or so until better information comes out.

Everyone wants SW Land. Its not happening.... yet. But there is that rumor as well as a lot of other CapEx things being looked at, some of which we know and a lot we don't. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

As for Frozen? Personally I'm sick of it but as a simple mid-summer show and M&Gs at DHS with fireworks afterwards? Makes perfect sense. The kids - who are our primary target audience - will eat this stuff up.

Also, best sourced rumor I've heard in years.

The big question.

Would TSMM really cope with being closed nightly?

I discussed that with my sources and the answer was "IDK." You and I both know if they do fireworks at DHS, they have to close off Mickey Ave. For speculations sake, if the fireworks are at 930 (like SWW) and the park is open until 1AM, they'll reopen the ride. But if it closes at 10PM, it wont reopen. Not to mention all the FP that will need to be rescheduled.

If this happens, it will happen fast.

As Fantasmic ends, the main show starts..

But what about on nights when Fantasmic has two shows? Unless you have a FP for the second show, getting in with less than 30 minutes until showtime is difficult if not impossible most nights. If the first show ends at 9:30, and people are just making it out of there at 9:45 (takes forever to get out because it's so crammed), then people who go to the first show would be rushing to get to a good view of the fireworks by ten. If the fireworks are at ten, and last 15 minutes, the only people getting into the second show after the fireworks would be those with a FP.

Maybe they would only do one show of Fantasmic until the fireworks have run their season.

ETA : I forgot about SWW fireworks. Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Havent heard anything new about it either way, yes or no.

DHS desperately needs an infusion of some way to get people to stay later in the park. Lets say - for the sake of argument - that this happens and works? Merch will go through the roof. It will be ridiculous.

SWW proved that fireworks at DHS will hold the guests to park close.

Harry Potter was actual work. Ran all over that place. Uni PR really could have given us another 2 hours.

Watching the videos from other sites I can almost feel the buzz that was going on. I really enjoyed Robert Niles presentation. I like his style, have you ever met him?
