I heard DVC pays parks and resorts for this space. So this is a perk given to DVCers being paid for by DVC and parks and resorts getting the money :greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy:

From a parks and resorts perspective, they took the shootin' gallery which was a pure cost and turned it into a money maker!

Nevermind that pesky guest experience.

In todays Disney, the parks and resorts exist for only ONE reason!

To make money to finance money losing movies.;)

yearly "maintenance fees"

This info seems to be out there now, so just to confirm that there are plans to replace the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade with a new DVC Member Lounge. Closure likely around the end of May. Disney has yet to announce anything beyond the previously news of a new DVC lounge in an unnamed location.
Just more DVC perks for people who are able to afford it while the rest of us hard working people scrimp and save to just stay at a resort and get tickets. We'd love to be DVC members but can't afford it. More DVC resorts and more DVC this and more DVC that. I love Disney but when certain people get more perks than others, something is wrong. I understand they pay a lot of money to have Disney resort accomodations when they want but do they really need lounges? They already have Club level, and other things that normal people don't get when we pay a lot to go.

You sound jealous. I have offered SEVERAL times to share whatever I can’t finish from my cup with those who can’t enter. That’s better than you get from the Club 33-class.

The only Club Level rooms for DVC are at AKL. Your “normal people” can book Club Level at several resorts. Not sure what else they get …. that other Deluxe resort guests don’t.

And since you’ve suggested you can’t afford to buy into DVC, then surely that means that DVC members have also paid a lot to go? 🧐

The Lounges are designed to tempt more people to buy in. The running costs come out of their marketing budget.

Tempt people to buy in and also make existing owners feel like getting more from their investment and annual dues

I do not own DVC but do know several owners that are very much looking forward to this and vie it as positive change from the shooting arcade

I definitely have a lot of good memories from the arcade - both from when I was a kid with my dad and then as a dad with my kids. So for me it is a loss - though also not surprised to see it go

If you think you can't afford it, you haven't thoroughly digested the DVC pitch.

Considering what you'd spend to stay Deluxe every year (not applicable if you're a Club Snob) and what it costs to buy in then maintain your DVC membership, you really can't afford NOT to buy DVC!
