No offense, but I do think there should be 'some' perks to DVC. I pay nearly $2k in dues each year, and our upcoming vacation in May is still going to cost us over $3.5K when it's all said and done. So, for $5.5K, I think I deserve a free .10 cent soda and a .20 cent bag of basic Lay's potato chips...
Yes, however DVC shouldn't take over existing guest areas that can be utilized for anyone. There are plenty of space they can utilize (or build) for DVC-specific uses.

According to an update on the Disney Vacation Club website, McKim's Mile House - A Member Lounge opens today at Magic Kingdom:

DVC says the lounge will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (subject to change).

Can't imagine I will ever set foot in there but it does look nice and well themed and will be a nice break from the heat, especially in summer, for those that can use it

Cute that the doors are B. T. Bullion (Big Thunder), M. Davis (Marc Davis, creator of the Country Bear Jamboree), and Hoot (Hoot Gibson from the never-built Western River Expedition). The model riverboat on the fireplace is nice, even with it soon being the only reference to the riverboat in the park. It'd be nice if all Frontierland attractions were referenced (at the very least something directly referencing the Country Bears and then something for Tiana's) but then that'd leave the door open for a Piston Cup or something and I wouldn't want that.

Would've been nice if this was something ALL guests could experience, but hey, why add capacity when you can sell timeshares while leaving the Stitch theater to rot for another decade?
