Because airlines subscribe to the same customer theories that Bob does - If you can charge them for something, do it. If you can charge them more, even better. I used to work for a major US airline and whilst I wasn’t involved in the business side, we heard enough as IT people to know they were constantly looking for ways to upcharge passengers and reduce offerings to those unwilling to pay. Then Covid hit, and the ensuing inflation and fall out from Covid, and here we are. Airfare that was $250 in 2019 is now $450. Why? 🤷‍♂️
Don't forget about Union workers getting huge pay increases the last few years, even though the work isn't getting any tougher due to automation. You keep increasing wages, prices will continue to go up and up.

Not to mention unskilled/entry level workers demanding, and often getting, at least $15/hr as a starting wage.

But anyway... I'm still opposed to the shooting gallery being replaced by a DVC lounge.

Only a $35,000 buy in…all the magic you can get

(Lightning lane not included and subject to “surge pricing” 😎)
lol that’s not even the half of it. The $35,000 buy in isn’t enough. You know you’r’e going to need the Membership Magic Beyond add on to get in given how popular it will be, and I also guarantee that the $99 introductory price for that gets way jacked up when this lounge opens.

The exclusivity ship sailed when Club 33 opened in 1967, honestly.

That's a valid point, but I think a very hidden entrance to a space well disguised into the second story of buildings in NOLA Square (and even today) is not a fair comparison to DVC. Golden Oak maybe, but even that doesn't play the role DVC does for the average guest today via advertising, architecture and even now (albeit minor) attraction conversions. Most guests have no clue about Club 33. I would guess the same is NOT true for DVC (by design).

Exclusivity in your face is a different beast than how Disney used to handle exclusivity.

For DVC I think Disney wants exclusivity in your face.

It both promotes DVC and creates FOMO ;)
