This Louisiana member will definitely need a stiff drink once all of our preparations are complete and only then if the boys leave. Don and I are staying as long as it remains a Catagory 1 but I would feel better if the boys are gone. It's the tornados that scare me and it's hard to run for cover yourself much less to gather two frightened little boys. I am going to try and send them to New Orleans if it follows the track the NWS is predicting.

I'm thinking of you, Debbie! (and everyone else in harm's way) If you're going to leave (or send the boys away) you might want to make the decision early, and stick with it...even if after all is said and done it's overkill.

When Floyd was headed this way, we decided to board up and stick it out. My neighbors FINALLY decided to leave and stay with relatives in GA. We ended up having some rain and not much wind. They ended up stuck in their car on I-10. Fortunately, they were fine, but IF it had really hit, they would have been in trouble. However, they would do it again, but would leave earlier next time.

This also showed both us and the county where our disaster plans could use some improvement. ;)

I heard that 300,000 people were left homeless in Mexico! WOW! That is startling, to say the least. My heart really goes out to everyone there right now

I´m fine, thanks Ray for posting the conversation!

Merida is DEVASTATED as the whole State of Yucatan. I can not express the level of damage this thing made. AWFUL.

Please pray for the people here because the reconstruction is going to be hard.

People in Lousiana, take all your precautions please because this thing was worse than Gilbert.

I´ll be back when there is electricity! Ciao and again thanks a lot!

Thank goodness you're ok! Now for Erik and all the other Louisiana members... :( And I hate to mention her, but Britney is currently in Louisiana with her family for her 6 month break. I dunno how far inland Kentwood is, but keep her and her family in mind too please.

I'm begining to feel thankful that I live in Indiana... the worst we get is a tornado, which we had one last Friday. I was in my school's basement for 2 hours. :(

Don't worry, Britney is OK. She lives pretty far inland, almost to the Mississippi state line. The NWS is predicting the storm will roll right on over my parish. I don't know how to display a map but if anyone does, I am in St. Charles Parish, Erik is in Terrebonne (or LaFourche), Camelot is in Orleans.

Maria, I'm glad to hear you're OK...comparatively speaking.

Maria, when you get power back, PM me if there's any way I can help....clothing, food, donations, etc.

Hello Maria, it's great to hear from you...my thoughts are with you and everyone there in Mexico, where the Hurricane hit. Take Care.

It's been raining off and on all day, as expected. Tomorrow will be worse, as the storm gets closer, but since I am inland here in New Orleans, we are spared the brunt of the storm.

Debbie, Erik and others...Take Care....and keep us all posted.

Hello from New Orleans again.

We were more fortunate here than in other areas closer to the coast, but we have some flooding problems due to the heavy rains that hit us off and on since yesterday on through until this morning.

I hope everyone is OK...Post here when you have a chance to let us all know.

Take Care
