I think her kid is like 10.

Since when are sports and work a binary choice? I played varsity football, I was all-state volleyball, I played trumpet in the jazz band and French horn in the wind ensemble and I worked about 20 hours a week (full time in the summer).

He’s 8. But don’t worry.. I’ll try to have him working on a farm by 10. That’ll teach him responsibility!

That's not true at all. That biological fact is an imperative to consume calories and water, nothing more. It says nothing about vitamins and minerals, protein, balance, etc.

You haven’t had kids...just like you haven’t worked in the business units at WDW...

There are things that manifest in the 3 dimensional world that you don’t need a student Loan to learn....I’m just saying.

It’s not consuming Dr Pepper that results in the ecv buckling crowd...it’s overconsumption of EVERYTHING and a sedentary lifestyle.

You lie!

Fat people are the fault of the (insert conspiracy), not their own decisions!

No way can people be held accountable to their own decisions!

That is just...(insert)-ist!

What on Earth are you talking about? I have two graduate degrees and zero student debt. I also have zero credit card debt and zero auto debt. No debt, in fact, besides my mortgage. And I have two daughters.

What does that have to do with anything?

And so he'll work off all that high fructose corn syrup!
Honestly, I just let him have a giant, uberly obnoxious, funnel cake sundae last Sunday.. after a weekend that included 6 soccer games and 1 baseball game.. 2 soccer games on the morning on the funnel cake sundae allowance. He woke up at 4:45am to head to the first game of the day. I make allowances on sugar explosions when warranted..and that weekend was deserved.

I don’t really restrict what we eat when out and about.. I just don’t keep any junk food at home.. that way neither one of us will be tempted to eat it.

Natural selection is largely dead in modern **** sapiens. Just about everyone makes it to sexual maturity, meaning even the worst habits and genes are propagating from generation to generation.
Lol it bleeped out h0m0.

Natural selection will always exist and shape the world. It works in developing countries every day.

And, wait until the next huge infectious epidemic. Natural selection will really show how powerful it is.

Let's be frank, you don't really manage it at all. You think your son is an amazing kid, and you like to see him have fun. He's not obese, he's doing well (I assume) in school, and is full of life and achievement.

You are proud of him.

There's nothing wrong with that mentality. Just, don't impose it upon others to pretend you are more virtuous than you are.

Their kids are the same to them. Think on that for a moment.

Also, good for your kid, glad he is doing well!

I don’t even know where this came from. My kid is irrelevant to this.. other than I won’t let a child drink soda, or store bought juice, or high sugar processed foods on a regular basis.. I have the same rule for myself.
I think this should be a no-brainer when it comes to parenting, health, and the good of society altogether. It’s not though, hence why we have an obesity problem in this country.

You stated it was. And, I strongly doubt you rejected Juicy Juice for your kid.

And I strongly doubt you reject soda from him now. Even if you do, you are seen by his friends as "that mom", because, again, this isn't new...and he drinks it elsewhere as a treat. Guzzles it down.

Ask him.

Still waiting for the HFCS...it's coming....

You seem to be tiptoeing into an area of “non-expertise” parading as an expert...that tends to happen.

I didn’t realize you have two kids...I’ll note that. Though it doesn’t explain that stuff about “minimal nourishment”...that seems “unparent like”

As far as all the rest...both my baiting and your flashpoint in response....none of that’s matters. It’s all just bytes and paper...it’s doesn’t translate to everything.

I like soda. In moderation. Coke Zero is my jam, and I need the caffeine in DW. And when kids grow up they can graduate from unhealthy, no nutrient containing soda to adult drinks - unhealthy, no nutrient containing alcohol. I like that, too. In moderation. Sometimes it's ok to enjoy yourself.
