Does anyone know if you can still get the annual pass discount on your room when you get the free dining. I called and they said that they may have an passholder package. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please:shrug:

I was planning on booking the 4/3 special this weekend for 8/8-8/15 but now I see this special and I am a Disney Visa card holder. Does anyone have any opinion on which would be better? I realize I would have to change dates with the free dining which is OK. Thanks as always

There is no annual passholders version of this. You can receive room discounts. Usually about 40% off during this time. You'll have to wait until that code is published. Or you can do as we do and book this with only one day base ticket. We use the one day base as a downpayment on our annual pass renewal.

They told me on the phone that they will offer the free dining to passholders... I just wanted to know if I could get the room discount with free dining..

Need more details of your stay. How many adults and kids. Are you already planning on paying for the dining plan or eating on the cheap?

Guess that would help :brick: Its been a while since I planned a trip but the specials are just too good to pass up. I have 2 adults and 3 kids (9,8 and 5) my parents are planning on going with us which makes 2 more adults. We stayed at POFQ and really loved it and I know my mom would love it so I plan on getting 2 rooms there if available and having one of my kids stay with them. We did the free dining before and my wife loved it and I hated it. Im a keep moving type of person and she likes to relax. We will most certainly plan on a character breakfast and at least 2-3 sit down dinners. The rest of the time Im sure would be grab something from the resort cafe. Thanks for your help.

I say THe dining would be better you could have more sit down meals and may save you more money.

There was a lot more traffic on this site last year over free dining. I guess it's not as big a deal when Disney has been giving away 3 free nights for several months now.

But it's still pretty exciting to us food-lovers.
I was thinking the same thing -- the free dining announcement the past couple of years nearly caused these forums to explode

If you're not planning on getting the DDP or eating a table service meal every day anyway, the 4/3 may be a better deal.
On the other hand, food for 7 people adds up. For your party, the free DDP will save you $192.93 per day (if you were buying it at full price.) Do you think you'd pay that much for food out of pocket? How much are you saving on the 4/3?

No, you can not get both discounts. You would have to choose either free dining or the AP room discount. Also, if you decide to go with free dining, you would have to purchase at least a one day base ticket for everyone on the reservation. If you book with the AP discount, you can pay for the dining plan and not have to buy any tickets. That worked out better for us last September. We had 2 adults (37.99 X 2 per day for DDP) and got a room discount at WL that was well over $100 off of the rack rate. So for us, it saved us more money to get the AP discount on the room and pay for the DDP. You would have to run the numbers to see which is better. It would depend on where you plan to stay, for how long, ages/size of your party, etc.

Mousefan and Kenny are absolutely correct. To the best of my knowledge, there is no package that would combine the AP room discounts ( which havent been announced for that period of time as of yet) and Free Dining as a combination. I can absolutely tell you that in the number of years that Free Dining has been offered, AP discounted rooms were NEVER offered with Free Dining. Sorry, Belle

My parents have booked a trip to go along with us in October...we were getting the free dining again on the bounceback deal.

That makes 8 for our party....qualifies us for grand gathering events.

The buy 4 get 3 deal is a better discount than the free dining discount.

Here's my suggestion - contact one of the Kingdom Konsultant travel agents here one the board and have them run the numbers for you!

Using them to book your trip will cost you NOTHING extra and they will take care of so many details for you! (Like your dining reservations for example. :))

Then you'll know for sure what is the best deal!
