All of the ongoing hurricane activity is great for the future of free dining. Not that it's a good thing for the affected areas. Haiti was hit in quick succession by 3 straight: Fay, Gustav and Hannah. Ike and Josephine are lining up to be next.

I didnt get a paper in my room, but I did catch it on my TV last year. I just didnt have $200 to reserve a room. I took my chances and hoped it would be released to the public in April and it was!

However when Im there in a few weeks I will be taking advantage of this one!

Interesting...

One hopes that the deals offered next year to those of us who couldn't go this year (new baby!!!) are similiar, not the tiered "Fast food" free dining plans.

Of course, if it is a tiered plan... we may just have to try out a deluxe :D

We booked this year's free dining trip while we were there last year. We arrive Sept 6th - 14th. We didn't have a flyer in the room, but we found them in the guest services area. My travel agent called and said they were giving out the bounceback offer. We could only book one room. I wanted to book a couple of rooms and have family join us. We could not. We could only book the one room and we had to do it before we checked out of the resort. And pay a 200 deposit. Which is fine. I am so glad to hear they are offering it again. I will definately book it.
My brother in law and his family are joining us for the free dining. Although I could only book a room for my family last year while at WDW. My travel agent kept me posted when the offer was being made public. She said if it were to be open to public, it would be open around April. And sure enough it was and my husband's sister got a room at our resort with the free dining. So if you want others to join you, wait and it will come out in the spring. They will tell you that they are no guarantees that it will be offered to everyone in the spring, but they have for what? 5 years now?
When we were there in Dec. They were running a bounceback Promo and I was able to book 2 rooms.
Is there anything in the fine print how many rooms can be booked??? If I remember correctly from posts this time last year about the bounceback promo, you could book 1 room per adult on your ressies.

I need to booked 3 rooms for next year Party Of 14 I'm crossing my fingers that I'm able to do this.

You're correct. It's 1 room per adult that is currently staying at the resort.

This has me so excited. I have never had free dining before. My DH and I will be at WDW for the first time WITHOUT kids between Oct 16-Oct 21. We are also planning a family Disney trip for the end of next summer (i.e. starting Aug 29 2009). Do you think that my chances are good that they will still be offering this promotion when I am there in mid October?
Thanks for the info

First, welcome to the boards. I was at WDW this past weekend. There was a flyer in our room regarding booking free dining for next year. The dates that the offer was good for are August 23-Oct.2, 2009. The flyer goes on to say that you must book before you check out of your resort, which must be on of before Oct. 20 of this year. So, you should be good to go. If there is not a flyer in your room, ask at your resort concierge desk.

Does anyone know how this applies to annual passholders?

I have a similar question because I am also an annual passholder. I am assuming that we must purchase a minimum of a 1 day base ticket (for all party members) when we take advantage of the free dining promo OR Do we need to purchase a park ticket that covers our entire stay?

And thank you mousefan1972 for your response to my previous question - you have made me very happy :)

You'll have to wait until next April to see if it's offered to the public. You can only book this, if you're checked in at a Disney resort.

Question on availability...

So we happen to arrive on Oct 23rd. Is this flyer based on availability? I'm wondering if they have blocked rooms for this promotion and might not be available since we arrive the last day of the offer. Thanks!

One day base ticket for each person in the party. You can then use that ticket as a credit against the renewal of your AP, but you would have to do that renewal in person.

You are most welcome. We are AP holders, too. Our AP's expire in mid-May of '09, well before the start of free dining. I am debating whether or not to do the one day base ticket trick, then apply them towards new AP's when we go at the end of August. I've heard it can be a hassle to do it, b/c if you have dining credits on your card they can mistakenly "strip" your dining credits off the card... blah, blah. At least I have a while to think about it.

Does anybody know if your entire stay has to be within those dates, or if you just have to be checked in by October 1st? We're going to take advantage of this, but we want to also try to overlap with F&W festival next year.

Previously, including this year, you only needed to be checked in by the end date (Oct. 1st, in this case). I can't guarantee it for 2009, but it's a good bet. The only questionable part is that the flyer states different rates for Oct 2nd.

We just booked our bounce-back offer before leaving on Monday. The flier was left on our last day there and we jumped on it. The deals laid out are not how you have to do it obviously, but they are models to indicate what kind of value you can get. We got the free dining and reduced room rate. I already can't wait to go back! :ROFLOL:

How long do you think this offer will be for? We don't get there until Thanksgiving and I hope it is still available!! Was the flyer at the Deluxe resorts too?
