Loved your TR. When we were there in early January we met the same Merida - she was fabulous with my DD who was 12 at the time (now she’s officially a teenager!) At A’s age she was really into princesses and wearing princess dresses but now is very much a tomboy (no joke - all shopping gets done in the boys section) and I agree that Merida has a lot of depth to her that can appeal to all ages.

OH!!! That's great to hear!!! When I was pregnant I was dreaming of hiking the AT or another long distance trail with A when she was like 14, just her and I. But then she turned two and turned right into a glittery sparkly cupcake, and I've been mourning that dream since. But maybe..... !!

Unfortunately our athletic interests don’t match up very well - I took up running as I approached 50 and she’ll do it with me if I force her (or guilt her 😉) and she horseback rides and while I love horses I won’t ride one - but we do manage to find things we both like to do together.

Thanks for the TR! I enjoyed following along and experiencing it with you and A, M and P!

Both my daughters started out as princesses but one is now really into sports! My wife loves it!! A can still change!! (Obviously, not that it is bad if she doesn't change either!)

I had this same thought recently because I realized in 32 years, not one birthday piñata....EVER!

You know... now that you say that... I've never had one either!!

I want a pinata, too! I'd also like a bouncy house. :hilarious: And if anyone says I'm too old for a bouncy house, I'd tell them I'm in my second childhood, and to bug off!!! :p

P.S.: @dryerlintfan ,thanks for a really fun TR!

This kid is just,... clever. So clever. She puts things together like you wouldn't believe.... In June she went to her cousin's party and there was a butterfly pinata. She was affronted when she learned that we would beat it with a stick, until she learned it was filled with candy. Since then, she's been obsessed with the idea of having a pinata at her next birthday party.

Her third birthday was Frozen though, so i doubt her fourth will have Olaf, LOL
Oh my...I am so not a fan of Piñatas! I used to think they sounded so cool. But I have two friends here from Mexico...they are sisters. And the one always has a piñata at her son's party and I can't tell you how nervous they make me now. This past August, one of the kids was beating it with the stick and the handle came off and the stick flew past my friend's head, missing her by less than an inch. She was SOOOO lucky it didn't hit her. And you start with the birthday kid and then go in order of age, youngest to oldest. My 2 are the 2 oldest....so they got right to DS and completely forgot about him and let the kid before him keep going until it broke open, so DS didn't get a turn. He was SOOOOOO upset and had a major meltdown. So they told him he could go first this year, after the birthday boy. But, they told him he couldn't hit hard because all the other kids needed a turn....so he didn't get a REAL turn. But by the end of the line, it still hadn't broken open, so they started through again, but skipped DS, because he had already had his "turn" at the beginning, and then it broke open and all the kids dove for the candy while DS was standing there freaking out about so much noise and flailing limbs. I had to dive in to grab a couple of things for him just so he could have SOMETHING.
In theory, they are a lot of fun, but they can cause a LOT of problems, and if there are any kids with special needs, it might not be the best idea. Just a heads up.

Departure day - Magic Kingdom continued

Stroller in hand, we made our way over to Peter Pan! A had never seen this movie, but M really wanted to P on it so I had reserved a FP. For most of this trip the wait time for PP was minimal, sitting around 20-25 minutes. Today, however, the park was CROWDED (from what we had grown used to, but still nowhere near Christmas crowds), and the wait time was 65 minutes. I was happy to have a FP!!

She wasn't sure what to think,.... I don't think it was her favorite. It was not my favorite either, but I'm glad we tried it. The girls then wanted to go on the "Dolly Ride" again.... oh joy!

While in line for the Dolly ride, A noticed there were coins in the water beside the queue. I told them how people made wishes and threw coins in so their wishes could come true. We gave them each a penny and let them make a wish.

Me: Hey P, what did you wish for??

P: I wished my mommy would get me a Tinkerbell toy!!!!!!!!!!

Me: That's adorable! Hey A, what did you wish for??

A: I WISHED I HAD A BOOTY BUTT AS SOFT AS DAISY DUCKS!!!!!!!

Me: :bored::bored:

After the Dolly ride, M went to get the stroller while I stayed with the girls in the shadows. They were both back to being a bit grumpy. We were sitting there for a LONG time because M hadn't seen us when she came back through (we were inside the building a little bit) and so she had just kept walking. Finally she texted me and I told her we were right where she left us :joyfull::joyfull:

Both girls were super excited to show Rapunzel their skills saying Bippity Boppity POOP!!! :cautious::cautious:

Tiana, who had seen this all go down, masterfully controlled her interaction with the girls by suggesting they all twirl their beautiful dresses

And because 6 princesses aren't enough for one morning :banghead::banghead: we headed out to meet my favorite princess :inlove::inlove:

Merida is always a good time. She's so good with the kids and Disney gave her a lot of story to draw from for conversation. Like, in Cinderella you don't really get to explore what drives her, what her hobbies are, what her passions are, what her hopes and dreams are (except to marry a prince). But Merida has such a rich story including all that character background. It just makes for a better interaction, in my opinion.

A: I like your shoes

Me: oh god, please don't do this again.....

Merida: why thank you, my mom made them for me so I'd stop going barefoot in the woods

A: you should listen to your mommy more

Me: so should you, kid.......

A: if you listened to your mommy you wouldn't have made her a bear

Merida: ay. I should have listened!

A: when your mommy was a bear, what color was her poop

Me: oh, god, not this again.....

Merida: oh,... well... what color do you think it was??

A: did your bear mommy eat blueberries??!

Merida: Ay! Bears LOVE blueberries!!

A: then your bear mommy had green poop. Blueberries make your poop green....

Me: :bored::bored:

From there we went to our very last FP.... 7DMT. A was EXCITED to go on this. P was hysterical. Talk about a Freaky Friday body swap :hilarious::hilarious: Both girls went on it though. When we got off, A had excitedly proclaimed that she loved it, while P took some consoling. She's not a rollercoaster kind of girl, I guess. I was just excited we found one type of ride A would get excited about!!

Because we didn't want to end an amazing trip on a low note for P, we stopped to watch the Festival of Friendship or whatever it's called (I think Festival of Friendship is from the My Little Pony movie, but this was similar??)

And then while M and the girls returned the stroller, I dipped into the confectionery to purchase treats for everyone my kid promised them to

And we hurried to get back to our resort. One small catch, though..... the express monorail was closed. We stood there for a minute wondering what to do, because we couldn't make the kids take the long walk from the Poly to SOG again, when a nice passer by told us the resort monorail also went to the TTC. Saved!!! We caught our car and had an uneventful drive to the airport for lunch

M is one smart cookie. She got happy meals for the kids and made sure to get the EXACT same everything, including the toy. SMART!!
You said you had been working with A on talking to adults.....starting with a compliment, etc. Do you think maybe that's why she started her Princess interactions with the "I like your dress" and "I like your bewbs!"?
