Usually when someone says “nothing to see here” there is always something to see so ......

Day six - Hollywood Studios

When we went through the bag check we were waved around the metal detectors. M didn't notice as she was trying to resituate her bags and find the stroller ticket, so she stepped into the metal detector line. The security guard there was downright rude and yelled at her "MA'AM, YOU WERE NOT SELECTED, WE DON'T NEED YOU" and M replied "oh. Okay. don't I look dangerous??!" and she laughed. Then another guard said "ma'am, you look tired...." and him and M laughed more. The first one was like "MA'AM YOU NEED TO LEAVE"

We had to make good time (thank goodness for that double stroller!). I have fully anticipated A to freak out about this ride. It was fast and loud and not hidden at all. But as we approached the Slinky Dog rollercoaster, she seemed..... cautiously interested. You could see the wheels turning in her head. We got to the fastpass spot and walk up the queue and still has a quizzical expression on her face. We finally get to the front of the line and she says "If I ride this ride, I get Cinderella shoes, right?! This is *THE* roller coaster?!".

Like six months ago I told her if she rode the Snow White roller coaster we could buy Cinderella shoes. I'm telling you, this kid remembers every tiny detail of things you'd hope she'd forget. That's okay, we can work with this..... I'll tell you what, bear, ride them both and we'll order the shoes online!!

In a strange turn of events, A, the scaredy cat, got on the ride without complaining or crying, smiled most of the ride, and even put her hands in the air!! P on the other hand, the kid who goes on every ride, screamed the whole time and got off crying!!

From there, we went to the alien saucers, which had a 25 minute wait posted. We waited maybe 15. I think the queues in TSL not being interactive is a huge HUGE miss. Like, they just build all this cool stuff, but didn't make anything interesting to touch or do. This **** does not turn

Well.... the kids made their own interactive queue.... P accidentally dropped some cheese-its, so the girls spent a long time crushing them

Then separating the crumbs into two equal piles, which was a touch tricky because both girls had differing opinions on what equal meant

By the time the CM came with the broom (and would NOT let us help clean up), it was time to swirl around...

We moseyed on over to TSMM distracting the kids with popcorn so they didn't see that Woody and Jessie were out to meet :hilarious::hilarious: and started walking through the standby queue, which was also 25 minutes posted. The path got really confusing because someone had left a gate open and pretty soon everyone converged into the FP line, which we went with because we thought maybe there just weren't a lot of people so they made one line. They had done this in a couple other attractions so far during the trip, but that wasn't the case here. Soon enough, a CM came to reroute those without FPs to the standby line. One lady there started really laying into the CM, yelling at her that she was wasting their time, and they had already waited long enough for the ride and now the CM was making them wait longer. It was really sad.

TSMM is adorable and we managed to get a popsicle wall selfie for @Tuvalu

But it should be noted, that Disney does not agree this is the new thing!! They have set up a photopass photographer on the checkerboard side of this pass through, not the popsicle wall!

Overall, Toy Story Land was really cute and we loved all the detail they put everywhere. I would have done two things differently: Interactive queues and some sort of shade somewhere. Also the stroller parking near TSMM was like fight club :hilarious::hilarious: Parents were throwing elbows and there were two security guards roaming around trying to keep the peace.
Hooray for A loving Slinky Dog! Lack of shade is a problem for Toy Story Land. When we go in May, I am going to try and get fp's for the evening so we can be there later in the day.
I think Disney will realize eventually that the popsicle wall is THE wall.:hilarious:
What was the problem with the stroller area?

Day six - Hollywood Studios continued

So I mentioned not having had planned anything for this trip... After Toy Story Land, HS was a bit of a letdown for me. The atmosphere was fantastic: I loved the old Hollywood look and feel, the background music, and the cast member costumes. I could walk around HS and do nothing but take in the sights and people watch. But it felt like by the time we caught our bearings, the park was already closed.

After TSL we went in search of a restroom and happened upon Princess Sofia
View attachment 319310

A spent the whole time in line telling the other children that Princess Sofia doesn't talk because she needs to save her voice for her TV show :hilarious::hilarious: P had never seen her TV show though, and had no idea who Princess Sofia was. Then we walked across the plaza and squeezed in as the last guests for the Little Mermaid stage show

This was.... uh..... comical? Why do Ursula's legs go straight up and down like that?! :hilarious::hilarious: And Max's hair!!!! M and I spent the whole time in awe of the weird costuming, but the girls really enjoyed the show, and that's what counts! When the show was over we ran into Doc McStuffins
View attachment 319312

This time the tables were turned.... P LOVED Doc McStuffins, but A had no idea who she was. A calls her "the creepy doctor doll" when we talk about Disney now :hilarious::hilarious:

We sauntered over to the other side of the park, taking in the sights. The billboards are my favorite part, I think. They just did a phenomenal job theming this park!! The girls were hungry, so we ended up at The Backlot Express. I grabbed the food, while M took the kids to a table in the corner. I had the Galactic salad with chicken, M had the California club chicken sandwich, and we grabbed the kids a chicken tenders basket to split.

The food was meh. Very, very meh. The chicken was dry. The salad was tasteless. The french fries were really good though. The worst part was that they ran out of forks on the line, so when I asked a CM behind the counter for one she just looked at me like I was unreasonable and told me to use two spoons instead. Two spoons.... to eat a chicken salad.....

I also grabbed us each a strawberry daiquiri View attachment 319316

Now these... these were delicious!!

Because P is the world's slowest eater, by the time we finished dinner we were in danger of missing our FP for Fantasmic! But as we passed the Olaf meet and greet, we noticed there was no wait. We had a choice to make.... a night time show, or a snowman. Ultimately, the happy snowman won!

A asked him how old he was, and was thrilled to learn that he was 4!! She then spent the rest of the encounter telling him all about the plans she had for her own fourth birthday party :hilarious::hilarious: He asked if he was invited to her party, and she got very thoughtful for a minute before replying that he could be the pinata :hilarious::hilarious: Olaf was not fond of that idea.

From there, we went in search of ice cream. But all the ice cream stops were closed. So we went in search of popcorn. All the popcorn stops were closed. So we tried to ride the RnRC, but... yep,... you guessed it,... closed. Everything was closed. There was 45 minutes until the fireworks were supposed to start, but everything in the park was closed. We watched the pre show for a bit... I think it's called Movie Magic View attachment 319318

This "show" was basically like sitting through the trailers at the movie theater, only there's a lot more of them and they're projected on a building. This was bad. Who approved this show?!

We decided to skip the fireworks and started the long walk back to the bus stop instead. Because of the construction, our bus stop was at least a 14 mile walk away... :hilarious::hilarious: By the time we reached the stop, the fireworks had started and we were able to watch the show over the trees. The girls were still begging for ice cream when we reached the resort, so we let them choose something from the Exchange on the way to our room
View attachment 319319

And with that, we called it a night on our last full day at Disney!

Oh.... and something really cute.... SOG is remodeling different areas of the resort, including rooms. So in order to get from the lobby/Exchange, to our room, you had to walk down a hallway and then catch an elevator to the first floor. We rode that elevator a LOT. On our second day or so, we had to wait for the next elevator car because the one that showed up was full. When the doors closed and subsequently reopened A was FLOORED that all the people disappeared :hilarious::hilarious:

After that, whenever we got on the elevator, she excited yelled WE'RE GOING TO DISAPPEAR!!!!! and then right before the doors closed, her and P would yell BIPPITY BOPPITY BOOP!!!! It was super cute :inlove::inlove:
How does A come up with those funny remarks at such a young age? Referring to her telling Olaf that he could be the pinata at her party. :hilarious:
Boo that it was your last full day. :(

This kid is just,... clever. So clever. She puts things together like you wouldn't believe.... In June she went to her cousin's party and there was a butterfly pinata. She was affronted when she learned that we would beat it with a stick, until she learned it was filled with candy. Since then, she's been obsessed with the idea of having a pinata at her next birthday party.

Her third birthday was Frozen though, so i doubt her fourth will have Olaf, LOL

I want a Pinata at my next birthday!

Thank you for sharing your adventure. I honestly LOL'd at my desk multiple times while reading about A's antics. Thankfully my co-workers tolerate my Disney addiction, and just roll their eyes as they walk past me.
