Food Update here *Food Update* The Get Out of My Way, Watch Your Child, Turn Your Flash Off & SHUT UP Trip Report!!!

Wow, so I am just digging in here on this thing. Picture editing, camera issues, and pure laziness has had this on delay.

Before I get started though I want to say thanks to Tom (WDWFigment). He really has helped me in so many ways with camera questions, photoshop, lens stuff. Anything I asked he has been great and always willing to take a phone call from a disgruntled "photographer". Pretty much any great or good pictures you see...he knowing, or unknowingly had a hand in there some how. So in all seriousness...thanks bud.

Now a little bit about my upcoming trip (that already happened)...

Travel Dates were August 25th through September 7th.

We have a 6:30pm flight to leave Pittsburgh.

The stars of this show will be my fiance Colleen, and myself. There will be some guest appearances but you guys only are here because of me so screw them. HAHA no we will get to them once their spot come up.

Leading up to this trip the time FLEW BY. 1 year went by so fast that it's pretty crazy when I sit back and think about where all that time went. It seemed like 180 days was here in an instant. Then 100 days, then before I know it my Magical Express and Vouchers are in my mail box. Then I am on the airplane...

WDW_6184_1.jpg

The flight was pretty interesting to say the least. I am not the most relaxed person so to speak when on an airplane. It's not my most favorite thing in the world to take part in...flying, that is. We were flying down as the Hurricane was flying up. So winds in Orlando were pretty wild, and the flight was pretty bumpy. Nothing CRAZY but still...the more smooth the better. With that said the captain kept giving us weather updates for Orlando saying it was windy and raining. We flew right in and touched down and there was no wind or rain. I was very happy about that.

So we exit the plane and walk over to the tram and this greets me...

WDW_6200.jpg

Yeah so now I am pretty amped up at this point and I am starting to get that feeling that "Okay...we are here"

So off the tram and down to the Magical Express area. Now anyone who "knows" me or read my trip before you know that I am a huge fan of taking pictures of people who are doing weird things, wearing odd clothes, or speedos. Some of you are fans of it and some of you are not. I have said time and time that I do not look for this, if it presents itself I will snap it and so on. Well we are not even in line yet and something crazy presents itself...

WDW_6203_1.jpg

Yeah this lady was dragging her child around on her luggage through the whole first level of the airport. Aint that like half a mile, or does it just seem like it? Anyways for the most part that is pretty much the only "people pics" I got. There are 2 or 3 more so I am sure that will have some of you on the edge of your seat biting your toe nails...

Anyways back to the adventure...

WDW_6204_1.jpg

We are on the bus!!!

WDW_6216_1.jpg

WDW_6221.jpg

We arrived at All Star Sports and Nick was waiting for us at the front door. I quickly said what's up and ran to check in before everyone else. Online check in this time was pretty shocking. I walked up to the counter and everything was ready. Dude basically handed my packet and room keys and basically was like "peace dude". I was like ummm is that it?

Our room was located right on the first building outside the cafe on the left. Touchdown something...I forget. But to my surprised the football field was all fenced off. I am immediately ed. I go look and they have new turf down, painted plays all over the field. It looked pretty much like it was almost finished so I calmed down a bit. So we went to our room, put our carry on bags down and headed out the door to go to Planet Hollywood and to meet up with a buddy! We got to Planet Hollywood where we met up with Karen (MillerPoppins) who just happened to be hanging out in Orlando while we were there! Prior to leaving she messaged me and told me she would be down there for a good portion of our trip and she wanted to try The Crunch Chicken. I agreed to meet up with her after careful review. Turns out she was okay. My review was dead on and we are very happy to have got to meet her/know her.

After Planet Hollywood we said out goodbyes and discussed meeting up again and that was that. Nick dropped us off and I dragged Colleen back to the lake at Sports that I wanted to fish at. First we stopped at "The Tennis Court" because I wanted to get a picture of Donald with a new friend next to him...

WDW_6245_1.jpg

After seeing the lake we walked back through the lobby for some stupid reason...

Here are a few room shots...

These guys thought it would be extra cool to sit in the middle of World Showcase and have a freaking picnic. Peoples stupidity level simply amazes me...

Now I wanted to get some night shots of Italy, Germany, China, and Norway.

First was Italy and there was always something in the sky, or someone walking with light up shoes that got in the shot. I think it's kind of cool though.

After Italy we went to Germany and I was setting up my tripod and I turned around and some dude was standing next to me with a DSLR camera looking really worried. So in my mind he like a few other people before him was going to ask me something about his camera. That was annoying only for the fact is I never had a clue what anyone was talking about and felt bad I could not help them. But he says "Are you Black - thigh - dot (Everyone says it like that) Thinking to myself "Thank god" I just said "Yes, who are you?" It was Brian...(SeaCastle) He said he recognized us sort of but setting up the camera sealed the deal for him. We hung out and chatted a bit and he was telling me how his family won't eat at Le Cellier because they did not want to eat at a Steak House. Well I got to thinking or feeling bad if you will...and I asked him where he would be in the day time the following day. He was going to be in Epcot during out 11:30am ADR so I invited him. We had the extra meal credits. After a few "Are you sure's" He agreed to meet us there. He had to go meet up with his family so we exchanged numbers and he went on his way and I got back to Germany...

John, I'll just add in with everyone else and say that your photos are looking great! This is my first time even reading your TR, but I noticed a huge difference in the Photo of the Day Thread. Your night photos look amazing! I recently bought the D5100, and I am excited to try it out at WDW in two weeks. My husband bought me the 50mm, but after seeing how great the Sigma 34mm looks in low light, I'm sure it will be only a matter of time before I want one.

I really liked the pictures that you and Colleen took in all the countries around WS. My husband and I did that on our last trip together, only we had a P&S, so we just did the whole turn the camera to face you and snap approach.

Now to find your food report!

Looking forward to more.

Oh holy cow....I'm gonna have to start wearing Depends when I'm reading this!! Seriously, my family keeps walking in the room and wanting to know what's so funny.

I will never be able to ride SSE again without hearing in my head "I'm about to slap someone for not paying their taxes, for real son." My husband keeps repeating that phrase now and chuckling to himself.

I'm loving the Brickeresque tripod photos of you and Colleen, but you're gonna have to look much cheerier to match Tom!! Maybe don a Figment costume and beat him at his own game.

P.S. Thanks for the explanation of your username. My husband is rap aficionado and he was familiar with the Roots. How do you pronounce it though? I say "Black the dot" in my head, but not sure that's right. Apparently "Black thigh dot " is incorrect also.

Haha glad you guys are getting a kick out of everything. But honestly it's just my honest thoughts and what goes through my mind!

I could never kiss enough boys to beat Tom at his own game...

Its Black Thi Dot The Thi sounds like you're about to say thick minus the ck...

Are you sure? Looks like they dropped something off of their tray and are picking it up to me? But if you saw them sitting cross legged on the ground eating, then obviously that's what they were doing! Seems crazy though. It's not even a good spot to see Illuminations!

I think "black thigh dot" is much better than what I thought it was for the longest time "black the idiot" I thought it was a pirate name or something!

As always - amazing pics!

Hahaha yeah people think it says that, and they also change it to that as well...

Great report and awesome pictures!

I do have to ask though, is that really you posing with Colleen in all those pictures or is it a cardboard cutout? I only ask because your pose is identical in every one. :)

What are you using to carry your gear around and what kind of tripod do you have?

I just purchased a Tamrac backpack with the tripod attachment. Looking into purchasing a Manfrotto soon and wanted to know what type of tripod you are using and how you keep all of your gear together.

The picture of Colleen "Flipping Off Mexico" that is what I use. I HATE having to carry anything with me and so does she. I have a BENRO tripod. Nothing special, but nothing lame either.

Day 8...

We had to head back to Epcot for the 3240189746432 time today for our ADR at LeCellier and to meet up with Brian (SeaCastle).

WD2_0710_1.jpg

People listen so well. When people do stuff like this, they should just make them leave. There is just no excuse.

WD2_0715_1.jpg

Here is a picture of Brian about to eat his Filet. He described it as "I finally feel alive now" Yeah I agree...

WD2_0719_1.jpg

From there we went on Living With The Land...
