Thought this was interesting - just got this email from Disney. Makes me wonder if they've gotten lots of negative feedback on the new fees.

I myself don't have a problem with them charging - I just think from free to $8 per person was too big a leap.

I think the $8.00 rumor was always just that, a rumor.

Hmm...it seems they think a majority of attendees to the F&W festivals are repeat visitors that will have a Tables in Wonderland card.

I can understand their reasoning, but it may detract from the ability to spotaniously decided to participate in one of these seminars, which was a highlight for me.

I don't have a Tables in Wonderland card (yet), nor would I want to plan out my day to this degree.

We'll probably still swing by and see if slots are available, other than that it looks like another year without wine tastings.

I would need to look back, but I believe this was listed in the F&W books this year, also the above email was apparently sent to TiW members, further precluding the fact that it is a rumor.

I thought the rumor was that everything was going to be $8.00.

I guess I'm confused that the $8 fee is still considered to be a rumor. It appears in the official F&W guide as well as the email I received.

It's not a rumor.

The $8 charge is being applied to the previously free wine tastings and food demontrations.

The samples of food and wine at each of the booths around the WS will continue to have variable prices.

Ohhhhh.

Well now the complaining makes even less sense to me. :veryconfu

Thanks for clearing up the entire matter.

That's correct for both DVC and passholders. I'm under the impression that you do have to reserve these in advance however.

jt04 exactly what did you think these nearly 200 post have been about?

It isn't...:rolleyes::lookaroun

Then again, we don't know if the "quality" of the food will go up...I doubt it, but will be very happy if it does.

It's irrelevant to me. I won't be spending money at the event. Heck I don't know if I'll even go to the event at this point. The freeness was what drew me in.

Well when you are paying 80 bucks to get in, and every booth has price ranges of 4-8 dollars, free tastings would be a great thing to show the guests that, "Hey, we want you to enjoy yourself at least a little bit without gouging every last cent out of you."

Well...It's nice to know your financial mindset...:lol:

It's a recession, jt. Depression, even. You think it's smart to charge for this, increase tic prices, create a merch club....?

You never learn do you. College will be make or break.

Just watch and see, and don't be so quick to judge like the D&G crowd. It's going to make it a better event. :)

I thought your people don't like college because thats where the "liberal brainwashing" begins. :king:
