Really? So they have to wait almost 2 years to start building it?
Possibly.
I'll be surprised if it starts this year, beyond pushing some dirt around.

I really don't think you can expect anyone, excepting maybe a few dozen very hard core theme park fans, to plan a 2012 visit to Disney World because Double-Dumbo is opening with an interactive queue.
Now that the opening of this project is being split into nearly a half dozen phases over a two year period, I think about the only thing that could reasonably be expected to generate interest in a vacation is the opening of the Little Mermaid ride. The separate openings of the tents and meet n' greets and even the BatB restaurant aren't going to convince Americans to pack up the minivan and drive to Disney World.
I almost think they would get a bigger bang for their buck by opening all of this at once, NEW! for the summer of 2013, rather than dribble out a snack bar or a gift shop or a spinner or a meet n' greet every few months for two years.
Future Lackluster Endeavor
Yes.
Tha phases are paid for with the budgets allocated for different fiscal years, not with one lump sum.
Plus, there are logistical issues involved.

I think we are getting two new dumbos
My copy of the timeline says:
Rethemed Barnstormer - Jan-Mar 2012
Dumbo - Apr-June 2012
Circus and Princess M&G - July-Sept 2012
Beauty and the Beast/Little Mermaid - Oct-Dec 2012
Mine Coaster - Jan-March 2014
As always, subject to change. May not reflect soft openings.
Is that the plan with Dumbo? It would make sense if there was little to no downtime for Dumbo. As in, ld Dumbo closes on Friday night and on Saturday MK opens with Dueling Dumbo operating and old Dumbo behind a nice wall. Is that the plan?
from what i herd no, they are using the same dumbo ( for at leas one of them ) what they could do is build the new one then install the old one(wile keeping the new one open) but it is highly unlikely. dumbo will most likely open with the rest of SBC with two dumbos completely finished
instead of the magic kingdom, its now construction kingdom. or construction land....
It's obvious they'll at least have to build one new one, if not two. Since this is a double Dumbo ride.
Or they could reuse the system for Aladdin's Magic Carpets and get that cartoon clunker out of Adventureland. I really can't believe that any one park needs four Dumbo-style spinner attractions.
