Trip Report First Trip to WDW in Two Freaking Years!

Hello Friends.

It's been a while.... a very long while!

My last trip and trip report to WDW was back in March/April 2019. We had plans on going on a cruise in 2020 and 2 trips to WDW that year, but then, we all know what happened, don't we? Considering that we often to go WDW twice or three times a year, not being there for two full years has not been easy.

But that is all about to change. We will be flying off to the Most Magical Place on Earth tomorrow and will be there till the following Saturday. We will be staying at the DVC villa at Jambo House, AKL, with a savanna view room. We have all our park reservations done.

This will be the first time we're there after Galaxy's Edge opened, so we are looking forward to getting a reservation on the most-sought-after ride. Fingers crossed that our fingers are fast enough to get it when it opens.

Donald, as always, is eager to go, but all of us, including him, are out of practice. He's more concerned that we have enough wipes to bring with us on the trip, and he keeps checking to make sure we bring his fast masks.

As usual, I'll try to report live from there, and hopefully do more detailed stuff when we get back to our resort. I still have plenty of stuff to pack, and have to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.

I still remember where the 2 hidden mickeys are at the Arusha overlook
Thanks for pointing these out! We will look for them on our next stay!

So glad you're having fun and keeping us updated! Multiple trips on Everest are always special! The Serengeti Sangria looks DELISH! Definitely putting it on my "must-do's" (that list keeps growing!)

It looked so busy in AK! And with kids running around without masks, etc....as much as I want to be at Disney, I'm kind of glad I'm not there right now. It would make me nervous! Did the CMs do anything about those not wearing masks?

Love Lomo Saltado!!! How far is this restaurant from AKL?

By car, it's about 17 minutes. It is just outside the Hotel Plaza Blvd. area. We love it because when we stayed at SSR, it was close, the food is quite good and plentiful (enough to bring back to our room for another meal), and it has outdoor seating area. Be warned, though. Parking is quite limited, so if you come during peak dining times, you may not find parking.

Still, it is highly recommended.

Unfortunately, we were in one of the covered pavilion areas, and there were no cast members around.

The kids were excited to see all the characters floating by during our meals, which was understandable. But the parents didn't seem to care that these kids are running around with no masks, and they were in close proximity to us and other guests. Even if they didn't care about us, shouldn't they be concerned about their kids and the possibility that they might catch something from other strangers? And of course, they were also in close proximity to other kids that they don't know.

I felt strange that I was more concerned about them than their parents.
