Trip Report First Trip to WDW in Two Freaking Years!

Hello Friends.

It's been a while.... a very long while!

My last trip and trip report to WDW was back in March/April 2019. We had plans on going on a cruise in 2020 and 2 trips to WDW that year, but then, we all know what happened, don't we? Considering that we often to go WDW twice or three times a year, not being there for two full years has not been easy.

But that is all about to change. We will be flying off to the Most Magical Place on Earth tomorrow and will be there till the following Saturday. We will be staying at the DVC villa at Jambo House, AKL, with a savanna view room. We have all our park reservations done.

This will be the first time we're there after Galaxy's Edge opened, so we are looking forward to getting a reservation on the most-sought-after ride. Fingers crossed that our fingers are fast enough to get it when it opens.

Donald, as always, is eager to go, but all of us, including him, are out of practice. He's more concerned that we have enough wipes to bring with us on the trip, and he keeps checking to make sure we bring his fast masks.

As usual, I'll try to report live from there, and hopefully do more detailed stuff when we get back to our resort. I still have plenty of stuff to pack, and have to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.

Our final ride on Rise of the Resistance was something to remember.

After we were "captured" and were funnel to the interrogation area, we were the first two out of our transporter. Maybe the people behind us were slow or something, but when we got to the interrogation room, we got in, and then they immediately closed the door behind us. We were the only two in there when Kylo came out and did his spiel!

And it stayed that way for the rest of the ride. When we were rescued, the rebel cast member looked at us and asked if we were OK. I said "Yes!". So she directed us to one of the two vehicles. The other one was completely empty, while the one that we were on only had the two of us. That was how we rode the rest of the ride! It was our own, private ride on the Rise of the Resistance! :)

It was a fitting ending to an extraordinary trip, I must tell ya.

A final good morning from the most magical place on earth. It is very chilly this morning.

We are all packed. Will have breakfast this morning at the Mara before heading out to the airport for our noon flight.

It has been a wonderful trip, something that we have missed for the past 2 years.

Donald did not want to leave. I had to remind him that we will be going to Aulani in a few months.

He asked “Will I need a COVID test?”

“probably not, unless there is an avian flu going around” I reply.

So he relented and jumped into my backpack.

We are safely home. Other than the annoying wait for luggage at Chicago's Midway airport (why are they consistently slow over there?), the trip home was uneventful. The plane was packed, and I was beginning to question whether it was still too early to travel during this time.

But it is done with, and now I'm going to quarantine myself from everyone else for the next 10 days.

The one thing we didn't do this time was visit Disney Springs. We just didn't have time, and the times that we were able to go were in the evening when they were usually packed and long lines to get through the temp. check, etc. So we decided not to deal with the hassle.

In the end, I was actually glad to be able to get a trip in, since I don't see myself going there for the rest of the year and maybe not even into early next year.

Thanks for following, everyone. I hope to put up more pictures and reports soon.
