The prices are in line with prices as steakhouses like Gibson's, Morton's, Palm, Del Frisco's. They are also in line with prices at Be Our Guest, Le Cellier, Yachtsman's Steak House, Jiko, Artist Point, Fulton's, Wolfgang Puck, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's, Cape May Cafe, Citrico's, Narcoossee, Ohana, and a bunch of other restaurants on property.

Getting those kind of steaks at home is pretty darned expensive as well (that $115 cut at Boathouse is about $75 or so when purchased from a high-end butcher). And then you have to cook and serve yourself. Perhaps you think nobody should eat food that costs that much -- so be it. Lots of folks seem to disagree, however.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. Just because WE wouldn't spend that kind of money on doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't. I guess it's been a LONG time since we priced the market on steaks. (only eat it once or twice a year). But I still believe that NO meat should cost that much. Geez, it just gets flushed in a couple days....

What if you are by yourself or with a one other person? Is there a cheaper smaller option?

I don't know. The fully menu isn't out, and I don't work for the company running the restaurant. If it is like other high-end steakhouses, though, no.

Apology accepted.

I must admit that reading the responses on this subject has caused me to realize just how many people haven't experienced how high-end steakhouses operate and what their normal prices are.

I think people are confusing high end steaks with high end atmosphere. A great cut of meat can be had in many places. A chef doesn't have to do much to a great cut of meat. I mean the more you do to it, the more you are going to mess it up. Really just add a bit of seasoning and slap it on the grill for a couple minutes (a great steak is ruined if cooked to well). Some of the best steaks I have ever had were in ranch county in the mid-west/west states in some simple restaurants.

Sure I've had some tasty meals in some fine steak houses, but after paying $100 for a meal, I'm going to convince myself it was great.:)

We would love to try this place out during our November trip! Menu looks great!!! Our friends also want to go on the amphicar ride!! Not sure I'd do it with my small kids, but it will be fun to watch!!! Hope we can get reservations when the time arrives. Enjoy!

$40 A PERSON!!!!!
I CAN EAT AT BURGER KING FOR LESS THAN $10!!!!!

;)
Yep. I'm sure there will be people who will scoff at that but would think nothing of spending $39 for an individual 8oz filet mignon or $49 for a 14oz steak.

Case in point:

Artist Point
Grilled Filet Mignon
Yukon Gold Potato Smear, Red Pearl Onions, Forest Mushrooms, Roasted Chestnuts, Wilted Leafy Greens, Horseradish Cream, and Cabernet Au Jus $46.00

California Grill
Oak-fired Filet of Beef
Florida Heirloom Tomato Risotto, Aged Balsamic, Tiny Basil, Tomato Butter $49.00

Hollywood Brown Derby
Charred-glazed Filet of Beef
with a Red Wine Reduction topped with a Cabernet and Roasted Shallot Butter, over White Truffle Oil-Wild Forest Mushroom Mashed Potatoes, and Sautéed Haricot Verts $47.00

LeCellier
Sumac-crusted Sirloin (Filet, NY Strip, and Ribeye are $49-$50)
Roasted Bone Marrow, Grilled Spring Onion, Fried Onion Petals, Harissa Sauce $42.00

Shula's
16-ounce New York Strip $49.00

Yachtsmans
14-oz Roast Prime Rib of Beef (Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Ribeye are $49-$54)
Sweet Potato Casserole, Horseradish Cream, Au Jus $45.00

But a $160 steak for four ($40/each) and people freak out.

Just 21 bucks for asparagus ;).... The rest seems inline with many other steak places.... the key will be service and atmosphere.

This was my point with my post about steakhouses every few blocks that have good steak done well. I buy Omaha steaks for my house and put them on my grill and have a great steak because the meat is good quality. We do not eat at steakhouses when we travel since we can get that at home. When I go to WDW I eat at places that I have like Marrakesh and a good seafood place.
