As long as people fork over those kind of "bucks" Disney will continue to raise the prices. I get that people will pay more at Disney, but that's just ridiculous.
I can't be the only person who's ever been to a steakhouse before, right? I'm 99% sure that those sides are to be shared among a table of 2-4, not consumed by a single individual.
But that's not faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair.*I don't see what the big problem is. Prices are in line with other higher end restaurants. If it's too expensive, just don't eat there.
Exactly. We might eat there if the reviews are good after it's been open a while. And yes it is expensive, but so is a $7 hot dog or $2.75 bottle of Coke. But that's not faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair.*
*Note, I will never eat there. I'm not some elitist snob like @LuvtheGoof, thrilled to have a place inaccessible to the plebeians. I'm just one of those plebeians who isn't offended by some people having things that I don't have.
Prices like that make me happy to be vegan! Even my 2 carnivores aren't going to spend that much on steak, on vacation. Besides $21 for asparagus?I'm not trying to white knight for this place or anything, those prices fall in line with a proper steakhouse pricing. I am a vegetarian, so I have no pony in this race and will likely never eat here.
Interesting. I didn't know that. Hopefully this won't be one of the first points of a Viagra triangle at Disney Springs.I can understand why it's so expensive...Since it's run by Gibsons steakhouse a Chicago based Steakhouse....It's about the same price ranges

agreed, its disappointing that the first new offering of disney springs is only for the rich. These prices are absolutely outrageous. Very few people will be able to afford that restaurant. I don't know why Disney has become so interested in catering to the ultra rich. I thought this was going to be a regular restaurant not some sort of super expensive place.
“Combining dining with interactive entertainment, The BOATHOUSE helps bring to life our vision of Disney Springs as a welcoming place for guests of all ages to enjoy with their friends and family amid the charm of a waterfront town center,” said George A. Kalogridis, president, Walt Disney World Resort. It has always been expected to be a high-end signature dining location.

Fair points, but give it time to reveal itself. My thoughts are first the menu will dictate that this restaurant is more high end (especially the prices). Second will be DDP or more importantly lack of it. If they establish the Landing as a more adult oriented sub-section of Disney Springs with high end, fancy restaurants it will have an identity. There's still room for the World of Disney and RFC at Disney Springs just like there was room for them when PI was full of nightclubs.
Not intending to pick on you, but the menu for Boathouse includes things in the $25-$40 range as well, which is comparable to 60% of the table service restaurants/buffets at WDW. I don't think it'll be "inaccessible" unless you consider a lot of the TS places inaccessible. I certainly understand that a lot of WDW visitors can't afford a meal in that price range every day, but I think most do it at least a couple times in a week-long trip. But that's not faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair.*

all ages, but only if your rich!! this is the current attitude of disney management.
with all the different rooms its disappointing that there can't be some area for normal people
its not uncommon for some big restaurants to have the high end steakhouse upstairs, while having more moderate options on the ground level.
or at the very least would be nice to see a more moderate lunch menu.

Oops. I was being very oblivious. Your post makes way more sense now!I was being very, very sarcastic.
Ugh, give it a rest. I sincerely hope you're joking because if you aren't you should be complaining about 80% of WDW. I'd love to hear what someone has to earn to be considered rich and which restaurants, hotels, and experiences are for the poor and which are for the rich.agreed, its disappointing that the first new offering of disney springs is only for the rich.

$59.97 for Coral Reef but still only $6 difference. If the service and food is better at the Boathouse then it will be well worth it.Lets run through an example of a couple eating at two restaurants, one which you are claiming is only for the rich, and one at Epcot, which many many people who do not claim to be rich frequently eat at.
BOATHOUSE
- Cedar Planked Salmon $29
- Berkshire Pork Chop 12 ounce $27
- Key Lime Pie in a Jar $9
TOTAL $65
Coral Reef
- Seared Salmon Filet $24.99
- Roasted Pork Belly $26.99
- The Chocolate Wave $8.99
TOTAL $69.97
