Trip Report First 6 pack Vaca!

Who: Top to bottom, left to right.

Me (Dolly Parton made a song of my name 😜), Hubby, Bear(8), Handsome (5),Ninja (8) and Jet (10).
What: We were supposed to go on a 40th birthday extravaganza for me back in March both of our extended families were set to join the festivities. When COVID hit we changed locations to Arizona however I still wanted my Disney fix. So we are surprising the kids on their last day of school and heading to WDW. This will be our first family vacation without any extended family (no grandparents, cousins etc). We are excited to spend quality time with our kiddos.
A few pictures from my 40th celebration.

Where: AOA Cars family suite. The girls love AOA for the Ariel rooms however since we don’t have the grandparents to bunk up with we are trying out the Cars suites. Handsome adores Cars so it was a no brainer when choosing theming.
When: May 27-June 1st, 5 day tickets with Park Hopper. I totally goofed on Park reservations. I booked a lot of DHS in the beginning to make sure we had a chance at ROTR. Our younger 3 haven’t been to WDW since 2017 since our last trip was to DLR. Well long story short by the time I went in to change them every park was booked up! So there will be a lot of park hopping this trip.

We crossed over the park To EE.

At first we thought the ride was down there was hubbub at the front of the line. Finally we figured out the family upfront was disputing their child’s height (how is this disputable?) and were not letting others pass. The castmember finally pulled the family to the side so the rest of us could pass however they continued their height debate. We sometimes call Jet, Yeti, so a picture with this sign was a must.

This was another first (not sure what we did at AK on prior trips). The girls absolutely loved this ride. This guy....

not so much🤣. Since we only waited 5 minutes and the line hadn’t grown the girls wanted a second ride. It took a little convincing to get Handsome to go again. I had to promise not to put my hands up and to hold his the entire ride❤️.

When we got off the line for EE had grown significantly. We decided to move on. We walked towards the front of the park the kiddos and I decided to browse one of the shops while Hubby made a coffee run. It was in the shop that Handsome remembered the sword from the POTC ride he wanted. Apparently this was still his souvenir of choice and we needed to go get it today according to him. We had a dinner reservation for Sanaa so park hoping to MK didn’t seem like a good use of time. So Handsome started being VERY grumpy. Bear and Jet picked out a piece of jewelry and Ninja picked out a large sleeping Stitch. Ugh we had to carry that Stitch around with us all morning it was only 9! We decided to take a few pictures in front of the Tree of Life. The photographer was very Extra.

She suddenly gave a giant gasp and said stay perfectly still. We could hear the Macaws flying across and would have loved to see them. However our PP said these were going to be amazing photos and proceeded to take 100. This was the result. 😑.

Hubby asked” Where to next now that we are done with Dumbo, I mean Aladdins Carpets, I mean Triceratops spin?” He thinks he’s so funny. My answer It’s Tough To Be a Bug.

Trunks up @Darstarr As with most “Bears” she shares a name with this bug and her siblings LOVED that this was the stinky bug.

It was 10:15 and we were all hot. The kids wanted to get wet. I hate getting wet. They won. Off we go to KRR. The castmember kept calling me chicken lady as we were loading our boat. “Please move to the other side chicken lady.” One of the other guest said “It’s a rooster and his name is Alan A Dale.” The cast member said “ I didn’t realize he had a name.”

We didn’t get soaked but wet enough to make it uncomfortable sloshing around the park. Luckily we all had flip flops so our tennis shoes stayed dry.

It was 10:55 and our children are conditioned to an 11:00am lunch from school so the whines were coming out. We decided to head back over to Pandora. A quick PP stop.

I really wanted one of the fancy slushee drinks but the line was crazy long so we moved on.

Late to the party, but all caught up! We missed you by just a day (two I guess since our last day was travel and your first was travel), but glad you ran into Megan and Mary! I think we got lucky the few days we were there, the weather wasn't terrible. I mean it was hot, but not miserable. I think the temps shot up as soon as we left!

Also that nighttime shot with the Roy/Minnie statue is beautiful!! I never stop there because of the line, but I may have to next time we take LP.

My girls would have eaten LP up. They adore kiddos her age. I always walk right pass this photo spot too. There was absolutely no line!

It was 11:45 when we were finishing lunch. I really wanted to see FOTLK so we decided to jump in line for the 12:30 show. We made it in but our group needed separated for distancing. The musical lovers.

We sang, danced and clapped along. I will have to go back when the tumble monkeys return!
We were hot and tired. We made the decision to do one last ride and then head out. The safari it was!

My Dad is a hobby farmer. He has a few Highland Cattle. I sent him this picture telling him he needed to add a new breed to his collection.

I stated earlier that Bear is a rule follower. The entire group in front of us had their masks off the entire ride. Obviously now this is a non issue but then it was the rule and it drove her nuts. She kept asking me why they weren’t following the rules and why wouldn’t they just stay home if they didn’t want to follow the rules? I had no answer for her questions. We live in a weird world right now. I didn’t take many pictures we were in the very back of all the plexiglass and it was pretty miserable with very obstructed views.

It was about 2:00 and we were all ready to relax. Back to the resort we went some of us napped Hubby, Jet & Ninja. Some of us swam Bear, Handsome and me! No picture proof but we all had two hours of the R&R we needed.

We debated where we should go we had bought park hoppers after all but hadn’t used them once. The girls wanted to ride EE again, Handsome wanted to go to MK for his sword. We didn’t want to separate and with the Sanaa ADR AK won. @Tuvalu you sent me some Shirley status. Private motor coach.

It was a 40 minute wait for FOP so we hopped in line.

This queue is so peaceful when you are t surrounded by hoards of people.

My hubby always says my eyes are creepy under a black light. Now I know why.

This ride was even better than the 1st. I believe we were in more of a middle location but I haven’t figured out the locations in the ride yet. When we got off it was raining so the park had completely emptied. We sloshed through the rain and took a ride on the Navi River journey before park close.

Just have to jump in quick and comment on how much I LOVE the Robin Hood themed shirts!! One of my all time Disney movie favorites, and in my opinion, underappreciated :). I wasn’t planning on the splurge purchase, but I just had to grab a Robin Hood Dooney bag when I stumbled upon it at Disney Springs back in April!!
Lovely family and wonderful report! Look forward to more adventure!

I haven’t bought any of the Disney Dooney bags yet but I did see that one and it was so tempting!!! I always watched Robin Hood at my grandparents house so it’s very sentimental for me.
