Who: Top to bottom, left to right.

Me (Dolly Parton made a song of my name šŸ˜œ), Hubby, Bear(8), Handsome (5),Ninja (8) and Jet (10).
What: We were supposed to go on a 40th birthday extravaganza for me back in March both of our extended families were set to join the festivities. When COVID hit we changed locations to Arizona however I still wanted my Disney fix. So we are surprising the kids on their last day of school and heading to WDW. This will be our first family vacation without any extended family (no grandparents, cousins etc). We are excited to spend quality time with our kiddos.
A few pictures from my 40th celebration.

Where: AOA Cars family suite. The girls love AOA for the Ariel rooms however since we donā€™t have the grandparents to bunk up with we are trying out the Cars suites. Handsome adores Cars so it was a no brainer when choosing theming.
When: May 27-June 1st, 5 day tickets with Park Hopper. I totally goofed on Park reservations. I booked a lot of DHS in the beginning to make sure we had a chance at ROTR. Our younger 3 havenā€™t been to WDW since 2017 since our last trip was to DLR. Well long story short by the time I went in to change them every park was booked up! So there will be a lot of park hopping this trip.

Handsome had his beloved red blaster but neither of us earned best in car. That honor always goes to Hubs.šŸ™„

We still had about 30 minutes before our lunch reservation so we decided to see if we could be seated early. However a cavalcade was a much needed distraction!

The cavalcade killed enough time we were able to check in for our 12:00pm reservation at Mama Melrose. This was a first for us and we only waited about 5 minutes for a table.

The girls ordered Shirley temples and Handsome told our server ā€œ Iā€™d like a beer!ā€ The server looked at me with a stricken face and I corrected him. ā€œYou would like a ROOT beer buddy.ā€

Hubby and I both ordered the steak and I had had to try Emā€™s favorite margarita on property @Tuvalu . Itā€™s now my favorite margarita on property as well!

Everyone had full tummyā€™s and we had cooled off from the high temps. It was 12:50 was we requested our check so we could try our luck at ROTR again.

We decided to hang out near the muppet fountain and give it our best shot. We were all set. WiFi off, 5G on, World clock ticking. 3,2,1.....no luck for me success for the Hubs! We had boarding group 80 and they were on 60. Our plan originally had been to head back to the resort and swim then come back at night. We were afraid if we left we wouldnā€™t make it back in time. We decided it was time to head to GE and to ride SR. Ninja and Handsome were not happy about the change and were conspiring together to get back to the Cars pool ASAP.

The wait was very long and hot 60 minutes. We had been playing the DisneyParks games in line but the SR one was a little over Ninja & Handsomeā€™s heads. They were very grumpy.

It was almost 2:00pm and it was HOT for our Ohio blood. Ninja plays hockey and loves all winter activities. She is not a warm weather person. She was literally and figuratively melting downšŸ¤£. I suggested we go watch Muppet Vision to avoid the heat but stay close to GE since we were getting close to our Rise boarding group.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show however Jet mean mugged me throughout. For some reason that child despises Miss Piggy. I donā€™t know how I raises this girl because I adore Miss Piggy and still have three of my childhood miss Piggy banks that I gifted my girls. Jetā€™s sits in her closet unused.

Our boarding group was called right as we were exiting the show. We entered the queue at 2:43 and exited the ride at 3:18.

Our kids loved ROTR of course they wanted to ride again so I had to explain how the boarding groups work again. I was happy I had held on to another DHS park pass so we could try again.

After rise we needed a family meeting. Handsome and Ninja were on cloud nine thinking pool time was near. However we had a 5:30pm dinner reservation at Beaches and Cream. By the time we got back to AoA they would only get 30 minutes of swim time. It made more sense to spend another hour at DHS , head straight to dinner and then go back for evening swim time. Hubby and I had an all out revolt from our two youngest loves. In hindsight we should have split up. That last hour was nothing but torture for all involved. In an effort to put a smile back on our faces we went back to Toy Story Land. TSMM had a 30 minute wait that was actually 20 so we hopped in line there first.

We did better this time. I am surprised and elated that I beat Jet. That child is too competitive for her own good. Handsome did end up smiling once he got on the ride.

We went to Alien Swirling Saucers next. Handsome was still in a mood and refused to ride. It was a walk on.

It was 4:10 and we recognize a lost cause. We had rode everything but Star Tours so we decided to head out.
Warning heavy text for a bit...
Our plan was to take the Skyliner to Epcot and then walk to the Beach Club. We had no wait at either DHS or CBR. We quickly loaded and went for our flight. However we made a mistake at the Riviera. I donā€™t know if we just missed the announcement or if it was off but we got off at the Riviera instead of just staying on during the turn. We quickly realized our error and walked around the rail to get back on. When we walked up they shut down the Skyliner. šŸ˜¬. We waited for about 5 minutes and then the castmember said we would need to go to the front of the resort and catch a bus. Ugh. It was 5:10 by this time. We walked through the resort and oh my itā€™s beautiful. It was added to my Disney bucket list after that. Anyways we get up front and they were only offering two options for buses. A bus that was going to AoA/Pop or AKL. I was so confused by these options. Hubby was searching for an Uber/Lyft while I asked a concierge if he knew of any buses heading to Epcot. He checked and confirmed the two buses were the only ones available. Hubby was able to secure an Uber that could get us to dinner on time and the sweet castmember said he would put a credit on our magic band for the hassle. Throughout our stay we experienced many moments that concerned us that the Disney magic was disappearing with the hasty castmember training. This castmember went over and above to take care of an inconvenience. We arrived at Beaches and Cream at 5:27šŸ˜„.
We loved this restaurant. Itā€™s food was ok however the cute decor and our server made for the best experience.

Smiles to be inside with AC and Ice cold water!

It was 6:15pm we decided to walk to the front of Epcot to catch a bus back to AoA. When we walked outside we noticed we had missed a brief rain that had cooled everything down to the low 80ā€™s. The ice cream and cool temps improved everyoneā€™s mood however this sight made my tired feet dance.

Ninja wanted to ride in a Stitch car so bad! The person ahead of us has the honor.

We swam until 8:30 and then showered and hit the sack exhausted! It was a great first day.

I remember having days planned out and those days never going as planned. There was always at least one of my kids very very upset but it always ended up working out. I also remember thinking on more than one trip that I spent so much money for this vacation and all they want to do is swim in the pool!!

It really does sound like it was a great first day, even with the rearranging of the schedule!

I do soooo much pre-trip planning and 60% of it goes out the window the moment we step foot in the park. Typically the new version of the days ends up so much better anyway! It was a fun first day.

May 29th-Magic Kingdom

I woke up at 5:30am to get ready for the day. Everyone was up by 6:00 and we had breakfast in the room again. I kept checking the app for bus schedule and it kept showing unavailable. Finally at 6:20 the app showed the first bus would be there at 6:28am. Ninja was asking me to put on her Gizmo watch (kids watch that allows them to text or call 10 contacts). I wanted to be on that first bus so I asked her just to bring it and I would put it on during the bus ride.

Ninja is the best at offering to help out. She asked to push Handsome in the stroller since he did not feel like walking at 6:25am. Anyways she proceeded to place her watch on top of the stroller, which quickly tumbled off and she ran over the watch destroying itšŸ˜¢. She was so upset! There were a lot of tears and a missed bus to Magic Kingdom.

We did however get on the next bus at 6:45. You can see Ninjaā€™s eyes are still sad in our bus picture.

By the time we made it to Magic Kingdom the park was already open. It was only 7:15am! I was so happy to be back in Magic Kingdom! Huge smile and tears in my eyes!

Hubby saw there was zero line for Starbucks so he decided to go inside and meet us at SDMT. Fine by meet I can admire all of Cinderellaā€™s Castles jewels. I admit I do prefer the old colors but I adore the 50th Anniversary accessories.

We obviously took a LONG cut to SDMT so the line was pretty long. Hubby walked up at the same time as we did. Bear was so excited for SDMT

It has been her favorite ride since 2017. We were enjoying our coffees and chit chatting about the ride when I noticed that I recognized the party in front of us. It was non other than @Doc Disney . Now I am a pretty friendly person however this was my first Magic meet! I was nervous to say hi and almost chickened out but my Hubs and kiddos have me a nudge. She was with her mom and sister and they were just the sweetest. I didnā€™t think to take a picture šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøbut I promised it happened! It was so nice talking to you @Doc Disney hopefully our paths cross again.
