Finding Nemo is amazing! It is tied for my favorite show on property (with FotLK). I love the music, and I enjoy watching my video of the show.

I remember thinking that as much as I love the movie, would I like the musical especially when you can see the people using the puppets? I went in to see it thinking that it would just be OK, but I fell in love with it. It is just amazing. The cast is so talented and they just give it their all. It IS my favorite show at Walt Disney World, with FoLK a close second. :)

No way, it is fantastic, the singing is brilliant, the control they have on those puppets in incredible, they are highly talented with what they do watch the way that Nemo, Dory and Marlin "swim" if it was lengthened, I think it could definitely be a broadway show.

Worst. Show. Ever. What a waste of 30 minutes.

Of course, I am totally joking. The musical is so well done (and the original music by songwriters of Avenue Q), I think it raises the bar for all future musicals, including the Broadway ones.

:sohappy:

:sohappy: Yay! I absolutely love Avenue Q! And from all the good reviews I've been hearing, I deffinetely can't wait to see it!

I agree that the two DAK shows are the best on property. My family really enjoys both.

Great pics. You have one I'm gonna have to show my daughter later this evening. She calls, "Can you feel the love tonight" the fly like a birdy song and you have a good birdy flying pic!

I was giving my opinion. We all have different standards and expectations. My daughter found it a very funny show, but it was the cheeseyness that made her laugh.

Hunchback was exactly how a show should be, and there is no way you can compare the performances in that to those of Nemo, despite Nemos obviously higher show budget.

IMHO of course.

I agree that Hunchback was a better show (to me it may have been the best show I've ever seen at WDW), but Nemo is good. I think it's a bit higher quality than you're giving it credit for. I just saw TLK, the touring show, here in Indy and I don't think either of the two DAK shows are that far off.

I found Nemo to be enjoyable, but I'm not going to fall apart if I don't see it again. I also didn't really care for Tarzan or Beauty and the Beast. My family seemed to like them. Our favorite is FoLK and to tell the truth I'm even a little tired of that one. Our trip in Dec. was our first in almost 3 yrs. so it was nice to see FoLK and to see Nemo for the first time.

I love the Nemo show, mostly for the music and puppetry. I love how... well I hate to say realistic, as they're puppets of cartoon fish, but I love watching them "swim." The performers are absolutely fantastic at what they do.
And I'll admit it, I bought the soundtrack and listen to it all the time.

I can absolutely see why it wouldn't be some peoples' cup of tea, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was the silliest thing I've seen. Yes, the sets and costumes are beautiful. Yes, the performers are talented. What made it silly is all the singing. Finding Nemo was not a musical and IMO it does not translate well to being a musical. My neice and nephews loved it and that was the point....to appeal to kids.

I don't think Broadway has anything to worry about. Though I love the Avenue Q score (which is a parody/homage to children's shows), I found Finding Nemo's music to be uninspired and very forgettable. The only song I ever remember is the annnoying one sung by crush. And it very much is a theme park show, quality-wise.

Which is funny because Finding Nemo's music was written by the same writing team as Avenue Q. But sorry to hear that that you prefer a tiny show with hand puppets telling adult jokes than Finding Nemo. To each their own I guess.

Finding Nemo: The Musical is actually Disney's next project for Broadway. After some disapointing reviews for Marry Poppins and The Little Mermaid, Disney is pulling out all of the stops for the larger scale of of the original WDW productions. Adding more scenes from the movie and more songs to make it a full-length show and possibly re-working some of the current costumes and scenery for a larger audience is on the agenda. No news as to when it will possibly turn up though. One of the other Disney shows on B'way will need to close before Nemo can open though.

The show (story) is about letting go of your child to make their own choices. It's very heart-warming in places much like the movie. I will say that it will depend on the cast that you see as to how good it is. Currently there are about 3 different cast members playing certain principal roles. Certain ones I can't understand because they fly over the words and try to put too much character voice into their dialogue. This makes it SO hard to understand. But if you get someone who can speak clearly so you can actually hear the words than you will be alright.

One thing more, let yourself go. So many people go into the show with preconceived ideas of it that they don't have a good time. This also goes for the parks in general. If you go to WDW acting like a grump than that's all you will get out of it. Let go! Be a kid again!

By the way, the original cast member that played Nemo (on the soundtrack) is currently playing Sophia in Mamma Mia on Broadway.

Yes. I prefer a TONY WINNING BEST MUSICAL with good music, inventive lyrics, better sets and better puppets over a synthetic theme park show. You betcha!

And it wasn't written by the same writing team...only Avenue Q's composer participated. His wife, who I believe wrote the inane lyrics for Finding Nemo, had no involvement in Avenue Q.

No, it's not. Disney does not have any plans to bring Finding Nemo to Broadway at this time.

Broadway bound or not - Finding Nemo, The Musical is Broadway worthy. It's the best show on property IMHO. Go sea it :animwink:.
