Indy in TDS has fully built-out sets.
That's Tokyo Disney in a nutshell its just amazing. It really is amazing how Indy at DisneySea is indeed so much better than in California. Lots of little things that make a huge difference.
I agree Imagination could go down around 2021-2022With all of the work being done at Epcot right now, I understand them not wanting to close down another attraction, when the park is starved for attractions as it is.
Assuming Spaceship Earth is the next refurb (I mean it is featured as such in the Epcot Experience), I don’t see an Imagination rehab occurring until at least both Guardians & Play pavilion are open.
Heck, I doubt Spaceship Earth goes down until at least Ratatouille and the Moana walkthrough are ready and they can claim “water” as an “attraction”.

You're correct, but unfortunately I don't think corporate looks at that as the win-win we all agree it would be.And I’d like nothing more than an updated version of the original with current tech, along with implementing a bunch of Tony Baxter’s original ideas for the ride.
I mean, Figment is a huuuuuge merch seller and is all over festival merchandise, seemingly EVERY FESTIVAL.
This just seems like a total no-brainer that would appease not only general tourists but the hardcore purists. When you can please EVERYONE with no blowback, why not?

Thanks for the clarification Marni2023 currently
I like it better, but ultimately, its still the same ride experience and is going to fall solely on which IP you prefer.
Huh? It’s actually a very different ride experience, and which someone likes better probably has a lot to do with the attraction itself, not just the IP.
Now this is a big big huge stretch of an idea I got but one that is...interesting so to speak. Basically for a while I have been in a group where we discuss books including Diary of a Wimpy Kid. One rumored idea is disney will make a show out of it and maybe a musical production. The musical production already pre existed beforehand but had a very limited run. Anyways recently Disney plus had a movie based on the first Timmy Failure book, which is a story similar to that of DOAWK. The plot involves a very imaginative boy during his daily life. Now heres where things get together. Assuming disney is willing enough to make a DOAWK musical production in the future, it could also be a possibility, not very likely, but a possibility that Timmy Failure or some other disney plus show/movie could be tied to Imagination too.
That or I shouldn't be thinking of these things at 12 am haha.
