Threshold Animation did the animation for this? According to their site they only worked on that Armageddon effect show and Mission: Space.
Yep. My guess is it wasn’t deemed as successful of an attraction revamp for them to put on their resume of works they did (can’t say I blame em. Lol) .. so, there ya have it. lol

On that same note, during a presentation about Mission: Space, apparently they had Dave Goelz reprise his role as Figment to sing, announce or talk about it at an event done for when it (Mission: Space) opened. The presenter mentions it to Tony Baxter during this presentation about the creation of the original 83-98 Journey Into Imagination ride when the topic of Figment’s voice comes up: 37:45 :

My guess is they were also contacted to do the little animations for Figment for that Kodak photo lab activity they had in the 02-current downstairs “What-If Labs” ImageWorks aswell that we’d mentioned earlier in this thread. Not to mention the little animations in the short-lived 99-01 Journey Into >Your Imagination (w little to no Figment. LOL), for the overhead queue videos and finale.

He does have a topiary in DLV, so he's got at least minor representation there.

And a motif, and a popcorn bucket (Parks Starpath, and craftable from the button/summer event IIRC)

Figment started as the tappers and then got his topiary with the club on DMK before he became a playable character. Fingers crossed DLV does do something similar. Or maybe as a companion or something.

Is that the soles of his feet are the wrong color aswell. They’re orange. While thankfully in the Magic Kingdoms model they’ve been corrected to the proper pink color.
This is still outdated as the soles are supposed to be deep purple now(The best contrasting IMO), though the artwork/merch throughout the years has been so inconsistent that you can’t tell when this change occurred. I’ve seen it in some merch from the 90’s.

I wonder if there'll ever be any footage/audio of that found :O

Oh wow, the prestigious studio known for the cinema icon FoodFight! being behind the eternal PS2 Figment sure does explain a lot. Maybe next time we can upgrade to WiiU graphics for him.
Foodfight! was peak cinema
Interestingly they also had also done the Hershey's Really Big 3D Show that use to play at Hershey's Chocolate World..And the Animation looks much better before they went all motion capture.

He didn't know anything special. When challenged on his source he slyly said it's from knowing how to look in the right places.

IOW... he guessed.

They also did the on-ride film used on Mission: Space from 2003 until 2017, when Industrial Light & Magic completely re-animated the Mars film from scratch, and also created the Earth mission animation too.

Threshold also animated the updated 2012 ride films for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure, but you can probably tell Universal Creative give them a bigger budget since it looks much visually appealing and stunning then their prior work.

P.S I never knew Threshold also animated Figment.

I made this a year ago in photoshop for a bit of fun... If they ever redo the pavilion, a new paint job and signage would make the building look much nicer.

New signage & paint job for the building, for sure, but I’m thinking that ‘99 signage should just go entirely. (And on that note, also bring back the left and right directionial signage that shows where the Magic Eye Theater and Ride are respectively. If they’re gonna change the signage at all, I’d much rather it be restored back to the 83-98 sign, but enhanced to feature both Dreamfinder & Figment on it, rather than Kodak’s logo. Maybe with the purple/pink spiral logo aswell.

Thinking, maybe in the center, where the Kodak logo and “Presented By Kodak” is, the spiral symbol/logo should be placed, but it should look similar to this art piece, in that, each window within in the spiral should feature a preview of each of realm of imagination in the ride. (Art, Literature, Theatre, Science, and Film) but in the center circle, it should feature Dreamfinder & Figment together. :
