EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Bad pitches for the pavilion or not enough information on the matter? Truly mind boggling JII & Wonders are constantly sidelined when they’re the absolute No. 1 priorities. At least in our eyes. Glad things are looking up for the rest, just feels like we’re so close to a huge win & the universe won’t allow it😭
Not enough information. I expect Iger is out by the time Imagination's ticket is called at this point.

Trust me I know that feeling. It's not gonna be the low budget temp fix many of us have speculated about over the last few years, it'll be proper and extensive. That could be really good or really bad and the thought of it being the latter petrifies me.
SSE needs TLC and a restored descent. It does not need a big budget “reimagining”. I fear they are once again going to mutilate a classic, replacing highly detailed physical sets & beautifully painted backdrops with flat projection mapped “canvases” and OLED screens.

That’s a relief, I’d be more concerned if they were still considering shoving in a blockbuster film IP. I mean, I suppose anything could happen between now and then, but still, rather this than those old rumors circulating again.

I suppose a new CEO could potentially get the ball rolling on some of these projects including JII. FWIW, “insiders” throughout the whole community directly place the blame for this sort of neglect directly on Iger.

Brayden, despite his questionable reputation as an insider, has made a few claims that Iger is directly responsible for some unsavory decisions, including cutting an announcement for new Tomorrowland last minute (twice now). Whether that’s true or not, I think most of us are willing to take a gamble on this new CEO over Iger in hopes there will be some positive shifts.

Anyways I’m getting off track here, but yes, I agree. I expect we’ll hear something in 2026 at the earliest.

Great news. Despite me really wanting an Imagination redo ASAP, Spaceship Earth is far more pressing an issue. It deserves to be at the head of the line.

SSE as is, is a good ride. Figment isn’t.

However, I’d much rather see SSE get done first so that by the time figment is done, Inside Out will probably already have an attraction and will stay away from the pyramids

I am BEGGING for WoL😭

Another thing that popped into my head that’d be an easy win with fans in the meantime, would be a Dreamfinder & Figment 4D film for Magic Eye. Something they could announce at Destination D alongside an SSE redo, as an obvious tease they’ve got bigger plans for the pavilion.

I worry that if Figment moves to the Magic Eye the actual ride would be earmarked for IP

Maybe so, but if Inside Out were added I’d be more concerned that’d seep into the attraction itself more than anything. Neither are likely scenarios imo, we’ll prob get something completely diff for Magic Eye, unrelated to IO or Figment. It would be interesting if they decided on gutting Magic Eye for queue space for version 4, IF they decide on using a decent chunk of the Imageworks for a preshow

Even then, OLED screens seem like a luxury to have on rides. Many older screens have been replaced by cheaper LED/LCD screens that do not have good black levels to them.

How is it a more pressing issue? It’s still one of the best rides at the resort.
I also fail to see how this is the case. I understand the supposed structural issues that need to be addressed, but other than those and the descent being updated, nothing needs to be, or SHOULD be, touched in SSE. I could maybe justify a few tweaks in show scenes on the back half of the ride, but that’s it. Also, last I checked, SSE was last touched up in 2007. Figment was butchered all the way back in 2002.

JII is a far more pressing issue, with all due respect.

The ride system needs attention desperately and has for years. Outside of that, I would tend to agree, Imagination should get money first.

I definitely don’t disagree that it needs attention, and they should’ve been on it ages ago. I just feel as though JII is also desperately in need of attention, like yesterday. Ideally, both would go down at the same time, but current Disney likely wouldn’t do something like that. At this point, it’d be nice if they just gave either one some attention haha.

The lack of descent/finale is genuinely terrible and it needs a general sprucing up the likes of which it hasn’t seen in its 40+ years of operation. And it’s the crown jewel of the park.

I’m not saying Figment doesn’t need a top to bottom rethink, but IMHO, SSE deserves to cut the line.

This. Figment is kind of embarrassing and blah, but Spaceship Earth is the park’s icon and thesis statement. It also needs extensive mechanical work, not just a narrative overhaul. Ideally, both would happen ASAP, but SSE definitely has first dibs in my book.
