Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Honestly, I'd rather have the Santa like version of Dreamfinder, rather than the young one. I personally think that he's friendly and warm. Also, having him be older will make him less generic; there are already so many generic young, handsome steampunk guys. Making him be older makes him stand out. Just update his look and make him a bit cooler and you're good.

Also, on a side note, as a person who is in a lot of fan groups for things, let me tell you that characters like young Dreamfinder often get lewded into oblivion. Making him sexy is a horrible idea in my opinion. A bit younger is even fine, but not hot, please! Fangirls are the worst and the internet is a very dark place.
Well given the decision making process lately if dreamfinder comes back it won’t be the vintage version.

Remember, as Barney Stinson says, newer is always better. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go listen to Chinese Democracy.

If they demolish the pyramids (God forbid), then I presume the rest of the show building too. In that case, they wouldn’t have learned from JIYI where they spent a large portion of the budget on demolition and removal instead of the actual attraction! Just use the ENORMOUS show building they have! I would move a mountain to have a building like that for my business on i4. What a waste it would be to demolish.

From a story perspective, you need a Dreamfinder and Figment together because they act as each other’s foils, and therefore bring out the most interesting versions of themselves, one coming from a more adult and logical perspective (Dreamfinder) and one coming from a youthful and wild imagination (Figment.)

On paper, Nigel should have worked in this regard, but he didn’t because he isn’t embracing the actual concept of imagination. Clashing ideals might work well to start off a 3 act play, but it isn’t enjoyable for an attraction that only has a few minutes to tell us a story and take us on a journey. In improv, there’s a little rule called “Yes, and...” You don’t keep negating what the other person on stage is saying because you’re trying to steer the scene in another direction. You need to actively play off of each other. Nigel needs to say yes and it takes until the end of the ride for him to do so, and at that point the audience has been bored with unimaginative show scenes. In the current iteration, instead of getting us excited about imagination, the concept is dumbed down. The five senses aren’t the same as imagination, they’re facets of our biology. Imagination isn’t something you can scientifically quantify.

A celebrity talent playing Dreamfinder could, in fact, date the future incarnation quickly, but only if they rely on screens. If WDI truly wants to make something in the spirit of the original, they will be using AA’s instead - in which case, we’d only hear VO, which could be married with any look for the character. And if they’re going to *do it right this time* we’re going to get AA’s, not screens or projections everywhere. I will say that I’d personally rather have Ron reprise the role...you don’t see Coca Cola trying to make Santa Claus young and sexy around Christmas. Dreamfinder’s look and voice were carefully crafted to be something that guests would find to be warm and familiar. Tony Baxter knew what he was doing.

I think someone came up with this in either this thread or another Figment related one, but I think it would be very cool if they layered in SEA with Dreamfinder and added that into the backstory. I think WDW could use a little more SEA integration. This could be a great opportunity for that

It doesn't make any sense unless there's some issue we aren't aware of that would make it more trouble than it's worth. Could it be possible they are worried about running into problems with reinforcing the structure or bringing the building up to code? Maybe they don't want a repeat of what happened with the old UOE building?

I doubt it.

Compared to the warehouses they build now, the UoE building is probably built like a bunker. If anything it's probably extremely hard to work with to make the coaster fit. That's why I'm surprised they kept it.

These original Epcot buildings were purpose built for the attractions they housed versus the "we can put anything in to here" boxes that get tossed up. Not that there's anything truly wrong with that approach but when you have a building that practically sits on stage, I feel it should look better from all angles.

Yes.
It turns out (lucky for us) Figment sells about as much (if not slightly more) merch than Inside Out tends to.

And lots of folks dismissed me when I suggested Figment moves merchandise. And I wondered about Inside Out's merchandise sales. Thanks for the confirmation. I think Inside Out would make a great attraction, actually, just not replacing Figment. Too bad they don't have a theater in Play Pavilion to convert. Oh, wait, they did. And they aren't :/ why do they miss the mark?

As long as they get the character right, who really cares what he looks like? Give them a blue suit, top hat, long blue pants, black shoes, goggles on the hat (optional), done. The jolly attitude of Dreamfinder is something that most would probably associate with a older guy. If anything does happen this weekend, it wouldn't be the first time either:

Say what you will about the comics, but maybe it would be nice to introduce a new character who originated from the Marvel Figment comics. Spark the cat creature comes to mind.
