Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Here's some food for thought - if Disney hadn't removed the original Journey Into Imagination back in the 1990s, would it have survived Iger's reign? And even if it had, would it have survived Chapek's?

Under Iger, not even the Great Movie Ride was safe. Keep that in mind.

Atleast MMRR isn’t a massive downgrade like JIYI was

Eh? I came off of Runaway Railway the first time thinking that it was built to about the same level as JIIWF. It's a lazy attraction, projecting stuff onto the walls of an empty warehouse. It's also incredibly odd that it's a trackless dark ride that takes a linear path and only really uses the technology in the Daisy scene.

The Disney Jr route would be the way to go and calling it Figment's Dreamfinders where him and a bunch of Sparks of Inspiration help kids find their true spark through their everyday life.
I’m not exactly the most keen on that idea.. unless it’s executed in a way that’s unique/different than most Disney Junior shows these days. I tend to find them too pandering. I’d prefer something along the lines of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh personally in regards to the writing & creative storytelling.

GMR didn’t have a merchandise tie in.

I actually go a the opposite way on this. Iger gets the job in 2005. At that point, Seas and JII are the only operating FW pavilions to not undergo a significant change since their openings. I can’t remember for certain, but let’s say for the sake of this argument that Seas conversion was greenlit before iger takes over. By 2010, Kodak is off the building. Quite the what if, but what if Siemens comes in to sponsor a complete gut job and rebuild of JII then?

If an interested sponsor entered the picture, they would generally have some say over what ends up getting built. WDI would still make a pitch, and the sponsor might have some suggestions.

If Siemens had come in to sponsor JII, I'd wager there would have been an implementation of more touch-screen technology in ImageWorks. The ride itself might have benefitted from Tony Baxter still being a part of WDI. I think that regardless of any drive for another IP tie-in, Figment would have remained due to a fear of more backlash over the attraction kicking him out (and merchandising would be very upset, as they were with JIYI.)

I think the days of sponsor based rides are dead..They don't want to waste the money if their attraction isn't getting the hype..I think Kodak realized this when Figment started a farting on guests..Yeah, great way to represent a brand by farting on you from the Kodak camera company "Share moments, Rip Farts."

This is why I think GM is sticking around as it takes something about the future possibilities of vehicle design....If GM bows out..Disney will change Test Track to Lighting McQueen's Racing Acdemy in A heartbeat and bring that AA of him from DHS for sure..

siemens didnt handle SSE right, I would hate to see what they would have done with imagination. Yeah SSE was disneys doings, but the sponser should have stepped up and said hey fix this awful undone ending, and they didnt. Disney wasnt willing to finish/fix it and siemens wasnt willing to pay more money so...something we are left with today since 2007. horrible. this and imagination were both big fiascos in their own ways.

This is all the information about YOUR Imagination's Imageworks I could gather, there's some stuff that are new discoveries in here (to me anyways).
I decided to redo an old project of mine, placing together what the experience of this variation of the Imageworks was like using old footage and press materials. This may not be 100% accurate, but I hope it can bring some knowledge of this now lost and forgotten experience that was part of the horrible 1999 makeover.

The most notable thing about 99’s Imageworks is that it was primarily advertised for the Imagination pavillion for a brief time instead of YOUR Imagination. I found two promotional videos that actually feature the pavilion’s makeover: one focuses mostly on the Imageworks with a brief bit on the ride, while the other skips over the ride entirely, focusing mainly on the Imageworks, with a brief clip to showcase Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Disney knew the Imageworks was the better experience of the two, and yet the experience is mostly lost.

The strange thing is, this Imageworks actually seemed enjoyable and well-liked, or at least liked enough to be lively in the guest footage of the Imageworks I got for this. I honestly believe that this variation could have easily been mostly left alone for the big Figment makeover, with maybe some cosmetic changes, and it would have been fine. With what little knowledge I have, I do believe the Figment variation is actually a downgrade rather than an upgrade but I will get into the reasons why at the end.
