Fifth Gate rumor

I think it was more or less bashing the attitudes of people who are so e-cool that they love to stomp on any infromation that they bring to light. Yest the topic has been covered eleventy-billion times but I dont think it is a bad thing when someone brings a new resource of information. I do however think it makes people feel unwelcomed and afraid to post in the future when they are taunted like this. I was new to this forum once and it wasn't so bad back then.

Well, I try my hardest to be as nice as possible to people and actually contribute to the thread they bring up. I think sometimes that veteran posters are taken the wrong way and people take sarcasm to offense or knowledge as arrogance. New members should lay low for a while, and contribute to existing discussion threads, building up knowledge and credibility and learning personalities of other members. You can go to any fandom on the internet and it will be the same way, probably worse. You need to ease into a community, not jump right in.

Haha, durr, my bad. That's what I get for assuming it was a Sea World type thing. Now that I know what it really is, I gotta say that it sounds just as useless in Florida as Disney America or whatever.
Well, actually, there is some truth to your statement that DisneySea could be an extension of Animal Kingdom. Each park has a one word tag that describes its focus and origin. Magic Kingdom: Fantasy, EPCOT: Discovery, MGM: Magic. Animal Kingdom's isn't what people think of right off the bat. Its not Animals...its Adventure. Its how Expedition: Everest fits.

Now not all of DisneySea would fit, particularily since they have their own Tower of Terror, but the general idea and a lot of their other attractions, such as Journey to the Center of the Earth even thought its stretched, Indiana Jones.

And not to start anything, but to this day I've still been a fan of having a Villian themed land or area, complete with volcano. You know, darker colors, spooky, more intense rides, torches instead of light posts. That kind of stuff. And of course the volcano erupts. :D

First just cause someone is new to a forum does not make them new to forums in general. I have a very good sense of when someone is being sarcastic, my issue is the people who are down right rude when a thread is started and they think it has been discussed to much. Now as we all know a forum is meant to do just that, discuss. If the same topic is talked about 30 different ways, then ignore it, no need to make a comment about it. Thats all i am saying, please also don't tell me or anyone else on the forum how we should participate what so ever, like i said a new memeber here doesn't mean a new memeber to the world of forums and as for myself i have a full understanding of forums and don't need to be told other wise.
Once again i know i am going to get bahsed because of this post but i feel someone needs to stand up and say these things cause it is very annoying to have someone thumbing their noses at other people. now in no way should anyone take this personal unless they already know they are acting in this manner.

Well, I'm going to try to get us back to the nature of the post: the WDW 5th gate!

While a 5th gate would be awesome, I kinda agree with an earlier post about there already being 4 great parks and that I already spend multiple days at the parks already. Some people may claim that MGM and AK are half day parks, but I'd like to ask those people one question: Did you do everything at that park in half a day? If not, then it is not a half day park. It might be a half day park for your tastes, but not everyone.

I consider myself very efficient at doing almost everything at the parks when I go. The last time I was at AK, I was there from opening to closing, and I still didn't have time for Kali, Flights of Wonder, or Pocohantas. True I might not care about every show or attraction, but the fact remains that I didn't do everything. And this was during the low to moderate October crowds and using every fast pass I could. Plus, the more you go to each park, the more you appreciate it, and it takes even longer to make your way through it. If you stop and truly take in everything at AK or MGM, it will take you more than a day: the plants, the shows, the attraction, the details in everything, etc.

I know some people aren't going to agree, but I doubt anyone that goes to WDW for less than 10 days ever gets everything done that they want to. That just means adding another park would mean we would have to stay longer and that sounds like a poitive thing to me!!!

I find it funny that people are saying there will never be another park, that Disney isn't planning one or that one will be built in (insert random year here).
The fact is that there are people who have a lot knowledge on this board. And those who are lucky enough to know Disney's intention will not say anything about it. There's nothing in it for them other than losing their source(s)/job. Those who calim to know usually don't

Err.. I will...

And It's funny that people never read / listen to the newst... :lookaroun

In a press interview Robert Iger stated that Disney will not expand the US parks in the future...

That interview has been broadcasted all over the country, and was in almost every newspaper...

And there's no reason for me, to doubt that...

If the parks/resorts are not reaching capacity on a regular basis, why would one build another park?

I would expect to see Bagdad Disney built before another park was constructed at WDW. :lookaroun

Disney has expanded a great deal and is starting to stretch itself a little. Now, they need to take what they have and beef it up, spring new life into, and add some muscle behind what they've already created before they go stretching themselves out again. If they stretch too thin too fast, they'll have too much to take care of and not enough reward.

I'll say it again... No Future expansions to the US Parks...

I think the villains are solid enough to support a really sweet ride (Kingdom Hearts? Anyone?) but probably not a whole land.

The volcano, on the other hand NEEDS to go into Dinoland U.S.A, and let's just drop that Chester and Hester bullcrap. The cheesy carnival thing is fun, and it can be a placeholder for the time being, but that needs to become a sweet prehistoric world of tar pits, AA dino's and of course, that ' volcano you were talking about.

Let's make it more than just dinosaurs too... how about some mastadons and sabre tooth tigers and stuff. Maybe have an ice age (the time period, NOT the movie ) based ride that takes place in a glacier. It'd be a nice transition into Expedition Everest.

Man... Animal Kingdom could be a LOT cooler and finally shed it's rep of being a half-day park if they just kept working at it...

No I read that, and the press release. But I honestly can't see a definite, 100% gauranteed "we will not be building anything else in Florida." There's just too much land out there to leave sitting idle.

Oh, and Corrus... I read that in the "newst" too.

My apologies then. While I don't expect anything major or new for a long time, it just amazes me that they would build in other markets (say China for example), and never build again in FL. But then again, that's business.

I guess only time will tell.

I dont think Bob Iger is saying NEVER, just only when its needed. He said when he came in at the top that he wanted to expand international markets, and he is doing so, the Disney Brands are finally breaking into other parts of the world.
