Fifth Gate rumor

The only way there will be a 5th gate anytime soon is if Disney decides to compete with Discovery Cove by building a similar style boutique park.

Nothing on wiki can be trusted unless you go back to the source and see if it is legit. I would like to see a 5th gate, but I doubt it is going to happen any time soon. With the high cost of avaland and expansion needed at the other gates, it will be awhile before we see a new themed land. I bet we get a new water park first.

Im sure there is plenty of room for expansion at the two water parks
without having to building a new water park yet.

Not one of the existing parks is in a condition I would consider even remotely perfect. So why build a fith one?

The worst is still DAK with less than half a dozen real rides, still a half-day park, we will see how Avatarland will change that, although I admit I am not too thrilled with the idea and would have always preferred an updated Beastly Kingdomme. And even with Avatarland DAK will not become a full day park or do they plan a dozen attractions there? Because that is about the magnitude of an addition that would be necessary to make DAK a full day park experience.

EPCOT is'nt that perfect either, still a lot of mediocre (Ellens Energy Adventure, Living with the Land) outdated or even abysmal rides (JII) in Future World and WS had no real addition or change since the presidency of Ronald Reagan!

DHS is a little better with Star Tours 2 now but still far away from being a full scale park like EPCOT and MK and the MK, although getting FLE still has at least 2 areas that need desperately either an addition (Adventureland, no major addition since the presidency of NIXON! and the JC is crying for an update, so outdated) or some major changes (Tomorrowland).

True, though it would be nice to see them add a wilderness themed water park back to the property.

I agree. River Country was a great theme for a water park, and was a lot of fun for a kid. Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever see a 3rd waterpark. They take turns closing the BB and TL during the winter and spring for "maintenance" as it is. While I am sure they do maintenance and painting during that time, its also true that the guest attendance to these water parks during half the year does not justify having both open. So why would they add a third?

I understand the Wikipiedia is user driven and alot of things are not actual factual but i stumbled accross this and through it would make for a good discussion point. Theye are claiming this is in the works for the fifth gate at WDW based on the original idea for the park in Virgina that never happened.

"New rumors have arisen that Disney's America would be combined with the Disney Sea concept for the fifth theme park to be built at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The timeframe for the park's opening is in the early 2010's. "

Walt Disney World is in the middle of updating and upgrading everything at the Magic Kingdom, and lots of things being done at the other parts, including Avatar section at AK.

No 5th park is going to happen, if it does it will not be for at least a decade, and I doubt that. WDW has so much to add to the four parks they do have.
