Sadly they know if you don’t go someone else will.

Well, if it gets that bad then all I can say is let them. There has to eventually be some price equilibrium in there somewhere. If I don't see any advantage for us to do so, then I will do my small part in that all Disney may get from us in the future is tickets. No resort $$$.

Assuming that we have any desire to go at that point. Guess we'll see what happens.

They don't need fastpass to be super expensive for it to make more than the $0 they were charging before. Now they could give a few free ones to on site guests and then charge for a maxpass system over the top. Or they could do some sort of "all rides" pass that is expensive, but it doesn't seem like anybody credible is really pushing that as likely right now.

Disney hasn’t been worth the time vs money proposition for decades. And now they have removed the last bits of value that it had, especially when staying on site?

Glad I’m not going anytime soon (if at all).

Again, a reminder: WDW was already selling FP+ in a variety of ways beyond the 30 day freebies:
  1. 60 Day reservations for those staying at and paying a premium for perks at a Disney (and friends') Resort.
  2. Club Level access to buy more FPs
  3. VIP Tours, which is a virtual any-time any-where FP pass.

From what we've been hearing, what's changing is the addition of general customer access to buying one or a set of FPs with almost certainly a limited inventory available.

what if, in theory, all paid FP users went to the same ride all day long? Would there be a per ride limit like the old ticket book days?

WDW is like a Rorschach test. Two people will look at it and see two very different things.
I think all of us who have gone to Disney for many years can definitely say we are getting less value than in the past. But that is different than good or bad value today. When looking at the nearest comparable product Universal it becomes very muddy to say which is giving better value or not based on many factors of ride type preference ,ages of the party going and on and on.

So It is understandable the difference in view points on absolute value. But no question we are getting less than 1995.2000,2005, 2010.

Says a poster that has stayed mostly at deluxe...

True enough...and four of those deluxe stays were club level. I do not mind paying for a good vacation.

But we got so much more that is gone now. Disney should be offering discounts and not skyrocketing prices and adding new fees. Why should I want to pay more than my last Contemporary visit when I have no EPCOT Monorail; no relaxing boat ride to Wilderness Lodge; no watercraft rental; no package delivery back to the resort; lack of housekeeping...not to mention fireworks, FP+, ADRs, and the fact that many current Disney menus are IMO terrible reflections of what they had before.

As a consumer, I will purchase only what I see as beneficial to me. I cannot pay the current rates for what is being offered.

Disney is at a interesting point.

For years they skated by with minimal ride expansion and kept jacking up the prices. Now with the removal of perks it’s simply making people question it. No amount of the shell game is going to make ride capacity appear anytime soon.

Not going to rehash why (as those refugees from the political forum know) I’m not a Disney fan, Mrs Willmark is. We can afford the increases, but it’s a case of it was marginal with what they offered previously. Now? No way.

Now if they have some sort of unlimited Fast Pass that lets me skip any line like at Cedar Point for instance then I might be interested. But there is no ride at Disney that is worth a multi-hour wait.
