FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

For those saying people won't pay for FP look no further then the increase in VIP sales since FP hasn't been available.
I'll pay for FP but not some insane amount that has been discussed. If it were $20 per person per day for something like a MaxPass then I would do it. But I'm not paying $60, $70, $80 or more per person per day and I'm not going to pay $10 to $20 per ride. They cannot model this off of California or any other Disney park because they are all one or two parks where people might spend a couple of days. That would not break the bank for most people. Take that same price point on to a Walt Disney World vacation where people go for 9, 10, 11, even 14 days and it becomes unbelievably expensive. Most people going on vacation to Disney World are not the VIP capable visitors. I don't care if the VIP sales have gone up. Most people don't have that kind of money on top of the cost of a Disney vacation.

You know I love you, but in this, we'll never see eye-to-eye. MaxPass was fine, and certainly preferable to what's being discussed now, but I'd still choose FP+ any day, and I'd sooner subject myself to a Dole Whip than agree with you that "the parks are better off without" FP!

It’s fine! I love you, and I accept you being wrong now and again 😉😉

Furthermore I want to address this idea of “freeloading DVC members”.

Between tickets food merch up charge events in a slow year I spend 10k, not including maintenance.

Yeah I know lucky me that’s not the point.

There are many more DVC members that spend big every year.

I just don’t see it being a demographic they can ignore completely.

Especially since they want to continue to sell points in the future.

I’m going sept 6-14 but last day not going to the parks.

That was the subtotal before I clicked thru.

It’s all I took a screenshot of to send to my wife.

There is a resort fee on park tickets?

Lol I don’t pay attention.
Just Florida tax…so spray can pay to go on tv and beg for tourism dollars while actively discouraging the residents from getting vaccinated

I agree with what you've saying. I personally think they are going to do anyways. After this UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND subsides you will be probably see some sort of discount or promotion to get people to go to Disney. IMO most of what they have implemented or going to implement will be permanent. I don't see Magic Express coming back or EMH for only Deluxe going to other resorts.

I do hope you’re right…

because we’ll have to hide rope from many of the posters here if you’re not.
The only way I see them retaining “free fast pass” is if the crowd control features of it can’t be done without when they get back to full boat.

You missed the tongue In cheek of “freeloader”…as i have been freeloading at high cost for a long time.

Still…I don’t think they “pay you back” with fastpass considerations…no real reason to

True. But VIP selling out daily does say a lot.
They may be selling out VIP daily but you might want to figure in the fact that they may not have a full staff to give all the VIP tours they used to. Maybe they're only able to do a fraction of the VIP tours they did pre-pandemic. If that's the case then it's no wonder they're selling out. I wouldn't use that as a metric for anything just yet.

I think they may retain it but reduced - as an enticement, especially for first time visitors. Especially with this idea of a points system. Let's say everyone gets three points /day with their ticket. But with 1 point being for the base attractions, 2 for headliners, and 3 for super headliners. So you could use your free points on one super headliner, or one headliner and one basic attractrion, or three basic attractions.

Has the benefit of staying with 3 of something, even if it reduces the number and types of attractions you can ride for free.

That’s fast pass +…everything was tiered because it had to be rationed anyway.

that plan would make the enticement to buy more so small…few would do it. No revenue.

so I still think even if “free” fast pass stays…it has to suck, be almost useless or barely tolerable.

you pick? Or all of the above

VIPs are minor…operationally insignificant…so is club 33…

it’s a mass operation…which means the mass decisions are the biggies.

This is what FP+ is pretty much.

True. But VIP selling out daily does say a lot.
The number of VIP guides available now is a fraction of what used to be available. There are also less people in the park, but it's not as if they have hired back all the plaids they used to have and they are sold out. I forget the number I saw, but it was less than half the full timers and none of the part timers. Just an anecdotal discussion by someone who asked their VIP guide why it was so hard to score a reservation. So there is clearly plenty of demand, but we can't know if that demand is greater than before the end of FP+.

Yeah but with FP+ you could conceivably ride Splash, Thunder, and Space in the same day. Here you could ride one of those and maybe Dumbo.

In this scenario I would think the the majority would use the 3 for 1 super headliner as thar would be the one with the longest wait. Not that I agree with it.
