That’s probably just trying to soften the blow when this crap hits the fan
Yeah…I just got the DVC email and it was hard to decipher…

took 10 seconds. They’re telling their timeshare guests…who aren’t into lines and generally aren’t into higher prices year over years…that they don’t HAVE to Pay for fast passes and suggesting a workaround

that is the best indication yet for me that this is happening.

not only that…it came today - july 8th…
And when did it hit travel media and Twitter?

🤔

And that's why most young people have roommates and don't have luxuries like living alone. You aren't going to have a 30yr career being a simple shift lifeguard and no one should expect to be. So can we stop the stupid 'living wage' non-sense as if every job is a 'support your whole life' thing.

The minimum wage was created to be a livable wage. What we need to stop is pretending like these jobs are only going to be filled by high schoolers looking for extra cash.

If your business can only survive by paying someone a poverty wage then you shouldn't be in business.

It's hilarious when people say jobs that need to be filled during school hours are only meant for kids in school.

There’s a word for that: post industrialized (2 words…actually)….

until the idiot Clintonites rebranded it.

its where the majority of the workforce has been trending for 50 years.

Those making minimum wage (or lower) represent only 2.3% of the entire workforce. Only about 1% of full-time workers make the minimum wage. Those who are under 25 make up about 1/5th of the workforce, but 50% of those making minimum wage.

So, yeah, the minimum wage kinda is for the young high school and college kids, the part-timers, and those in very entry-level jobs. Very few people are trying to make a career or support a family in a minimum wage job.

I would argue that doesn't hold true for housekeeping positions. Those are usually working moms or dads trying to support their family.

Do I think everyone should be making what I or you make after years of schooling and on the job experience? Of course not.

Well, when you do away with manufacturing jobs by either automating or outsourcing, and people don't want to pay artisans and craftsmen like they used to...

There are only so many jobs in an office environment available.

I got great news for you - these people aren't getting paid minimum wage so complain about it all you want - it's not what is at stake here.

Second, the minimum wage was not defined as supporting a family, or having possessions, etc. It was about substance, not defining you'd get to the American Dream on it alone. It also never was about ensuring any job was a lifer - it was not put into place so that people would never have to worry about making more. People forget the word 'minimum' sometimes and think it means "I should be able to do what I feel I need to". Negative Ghostrider. Now take these woes elsewhere.

What if...

They allow some set of Premier Access passes to be purchased ahead of time, reserving some for 'day of' as well? For those of us who like to plan (and pay) ahead of time, it would be similar to the way FP+ is now. Perhaps some freebies as well for staying on property. It would help those of us who don't like the uncertainty of 'game day' (figuring stuff out on the fly in the park) but also allow those who want to be spontaneous (non-planners) to vie for the the other Premier passes or do the standby options?
