Mt. Crumpit is the attraction I have been waiting for, for years. The rumor has been around (I believe) since the live action film first came out. Now, after all these years I’m assuming their waiting on the release of the Illumination version that comes out next year. Either or, no one is meaner than the Grinch or a rollercoaster on a mountain.. which would be Universal’s first. Let they show the competition who does it better.

Zelda is not included in “nintendoland”. It’s super mario focused.
In Japan. Nothing has been set in stone for Orlando. Remember that we have seen Donkey Kong Country ride concepts.

I really don't like the concept and look they are going with in Japan. They're going for the old school look, meaning non-immersive and an excuse to be cheap and still have it be "themed." The modern games do not like this and they could so much more with it.

DKC is a spinoff of mario though. so still mario. Also of course japan is going to have the old school look, most mario games still look like that. Have you played the new super mario bros franchise, mario 3D world, etc.? Not to mention the concept art looks pretty immersive to me. But full immersiveness is a wait and see situation. The land looks immersive, but are the rides? Now that's what is truly important to me.

DK is part of the Mario universe. We will see. I suspect a clone. I like the concept art. It looks like Super Mario Bros. for the Wii U. Hopefully it won’t be just screens. I kind of think Mario Kart will be similar to FOP. Which would be OKAY.

The artwork makes me think of Mario 64 more than anything. But if they wanted to, they could take a cue from the newest game and do a modern look with "old school" 2D elements embedded into certain parts of it so they're both represented.

Flight of Passage? Mario Kart won't be a motion simulator according to rumors. More of a Test Track with VR elements.

I don't want to be "that guy" but having read their preview, it sounds like the most stereotypical Universal screen ride I've ever seen.

If you haven't seen the Hollywood version:

They expanded and tweaked Kong, so we'll see how the Orlando Fast & Furious compares, but I'm expecting quite similar.

Watching this video again- this seems to be another Universal ride with a death, there's no way the guy on the back of that pickup lived. Speaking of which, I had a funny exchange with a cast member at Kong in Orlando. Seems the employees now clap at the end of every ride which I was finding odder and odder during our stay. Getting off Kong there was a worker clapping and saying, "Welcome back" to which I replied, "Thanks, but why are you clapping, people died!" He smiled and asked, "Who died?" I responded, "That other party exploring the cave, the other truck that was behind us that the T-Rex pulled off the cliff. And what about hat poor woman was taken by the crab monster?" He laughed and said, "Oh, they're all fine- they actually arrived back before you did and were all at the canteen." I thought he must have heard this before as he had such a prepared response, but it was a great interaction.

The woman taken by the crab monster, "Kate", does live, as explained by the radio message after you see the Kong animatronic.

"Your favorite film clips will play on screens throughout the queue." C'mon, that's Six Flags level crap. As a whole this doesn't sound like the worst thing ever but I'm not too excited.
Yeah, that's seriously awful. Imagine how lame it would be if movie clips were played in the Forbidden Journey and Gringotts queue instead of actually immersing you in the setting?

It's so comically generic

Watch movie scenes while in the queue
Enter a larger queue with a replica vehicle
Say hi to the stars of the film and board some large group vehicle
Oh no! The bad guys from the film are attacking you because reasons
Don't worry the heroes are here to protect your vehicle
Good work! You were brave and survived, the heroes are impressed
Exit through the gift shop

Both rides suck and are far too generic and bland, that's Universal's biggest problem nowadays

nah they don't suck they eat people like crazy and fallon was fun to me. not everything SHOULD be a blockbuster. That is a Disney problem build all big E tickets and there's no filler. kong wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. it was also the first proof that Harry potter level que details can make it outside of potter world. the best part of universal is how everything isn't 90 minute waits and rides like these I believe are key.
