With the giant "Future Expansion" pad placed with a direct connection to the WonderBra theater and the backside of Fantasyland, today's Stop-The-Internet image from the Micechat Update seems to fit in this thread.

Seems like most people think that land would be used for a Star Wars expansion but I think your right. That expansion pad was probably preserved for a FL expansion. Of course plans can be changed and the location of that land can be used for either expansion. If the demand for Star Wars somehow exceeds the already sky high expectations maybe they do decide to use that land for a Star Wars land expansion. Who knows. I think it would be a little overkill when you consider the land will already be 14 acres and have two E tickets. (Although I would like to throw this out there... I'm getting the hunch that the Millenium Falcon might be a D ticket).

I find it amazing that so many Disney fans who spent years lamenting Pixar's penetration into the parks as homegrown Disney IP was tossed aside are now moaning about Frozen.

It's here to stay. It's a cultural landmark, a phenomenon. And it's a homegrown Disney IP in the vein of earlier celebrated fairy tale classics. The backlash in the fan community astounds me. For years they longed for a Disney hit to happen and get into the parks. It happened, and now they complain.

People would honestly rather have a perpetually half closed Toontown than a stunning high budget Frozen E ticket? They'd rather have a 13 year old stage show that painfully shows its age in light of its far superior Broadway incarnation, than a brand new spectacular show that will bring the Hyperion into the realm of modern stagecraft? I got $10 that says the new Frozen musical won't feature Barbie dolls as a legitimate staging effect.

I love this post.

If there is an expansion to FL of course Frozen will be a part of it. I love PATF but a Tiana's place in NOS would be fine. I really want a Tangled attraction.

I don't want any part of the WDW expansion. Over half a billion for an extra spinner , d ticket, restaurant, meet and greet, rock work and a clone of an incomplete c ticket . The expansion should have at least fit a Batb dark ride , LM w/o skipping a few scenes and Tangled E ticket into the budget.

I like Frozen but I hate how it took the momentum from two of my favorite Disney movies, Tangled and BH6. Especially BH6 on the merch side. I don't think every decent Disney movie deserves some sort of attraction but I would really like if most Disney movies have some merch that isn't a pin or vinlymation.

Exactly, people don't want investment unless it's what "they" want regardless of if the general public will love it...and they will. And I've never understood the backlash against Frozen. It's will clearly go down as one of the all-time Disney classics appealing to kids today the way Mermaid, BATB, Lion King, Aladdin appealed to kids back then. Are people upset because they feel it's getting jammed down their throats too much? Seriously, we had parades dedicated to the Lion King, Aladdin's Royal Caravan, a Hercules Parade and a Mulan parade...and people are worried about Frozen? Thank goodness this board wasn't around in the 90's, it would have been unbearable.

Frozen was released 3 years after Tangled...hardly what I'd consider a momentum stealer. Tangled made ~$600MM at the box office, Frozen 2X that. Frozen success, comparative to any other Disney movie, drove the merchandising. I don't blame Disney one bit, it's smart business. As for attractions, totally agree. You can't do attractions for everything but if you are going to, you do it for what is most popular or likely to have legs, it just may not be popular with 21 year old men on a message board. I think Di$ney will be ok with that. Those folks are getting Star Wars land...oh wait, they all hate that too.

I never "hated" Frozen, but I didn't quite get what the fuss about until I saw Disneyland Forever last summer. Standing in front of me, in the dead center of Main Street, was a dad with a young girl on his shoulders. During the Frozen segment she was waving her hands wildly in the air as if she was conducting an orchestra while belting out Let it Go at the top of her little lungs as "snow" fell all around us. For me it was an unforgettable moment, not just because it was adorable, but because I was witnessing an organic demonstration of how Disney is still very much in the business of driving content that is relative to a new generation fans. Just wait until SW Land opens. There are going to be a lot of little boys and girls who will lose their minds.

You may not like Frozen (I personally have little patience for the whole Princesses as a brand thing, tbh), but the popularity of the film's songs and characters are undeniable. As Disney phenomenons go Frozen is basically this generation's Mary Poppins.

I think in general people are going to complain unless things are done exactly as they want them done. To suit their own personal taste.

I also think people think anything "NEW" and not classic is bad. If they released most of the classic Disney movies today, Disney fans probably wouldn't love them nearly as much.

I get a bit tired of all the Frozen stuff too. Then I watch the movie, and I'm like, "Oh yeah, this IS pretty good." I can see why it struck a chord with the public, and I certainly don't blame Disney for capitalizing on that.

I'm honestly surprised that Anna and Elsa have not been added to its a small world by now. That one seems obvious and quick to do.
Does the ride feature a Norway section? Disney seems to think that Frozen takes place in Norway when I'm pretty sure Arendelle is just a mishmash of Scandinavian countries. Why else would they have it take over Maelstrom?

You know, all that talk about "Return to Oz" made me think that a dark ride based on the Oz books, with Disney versions of the characters, could be pretty cool.
