It is... but I think Cars is wearing thin, they haven't really managed to milk much from Marvel to get the very young boys which only leaves Star Wars.... which is fine and will be attractive to the young male audience but it is still only one franchise which means if your little boy doesn't like Star Wars then he isn't going to enjoy much of Star Wars land at all... vs the Fantasyland concept for little girls has multiple movies so if a little girl doesn't connect with one movie she might will with another, much better when they have some diversity.

So are you saying that you think Gummi bears and duck tales will appeal more to boys in 2017 then Star Wars, Marvel, and Cars?

I understand there is the curiosity factor... but if you were a little kid that probably isn't going to be as much of a driver and even if it did cause the 5 year old to want to see Star Wars land even though they didn't like the movie it probably wouldn't cause them to want to do it over and over, which is what you want little kids to want if your trying to push your theme park.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty almost certain that SW Land will do just fine without little kids.

I don't think you have to like Star Wars to enjoy a SW Land. I can't stand the Harry Potter franchise (I know, I know), but WWoHP is something that I'm interested in experiencing.

What's funny is that I tried really hard to ride that bandwagon. I saw the first 4 movies (not sure how many I saw TBH.. they all seemed the same to me), but I couldn't take any more than that. The only big fantasy film franchise I'm less interested in than Harry Potter is Lord of The Rings, I gave up on the series after sleeping through the second half of an IMAX 3D screening of The Fellowship of The Ring.

I feel the same way about both IPs. The inner nerd in me tried to like Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit because I loved the Hobbit animated film and read the books when I was a kid. But they were just ok to me. Harry Potter came out when I was in my late teens so it wasn't very appealing to me and I missed the bandwagon. I've seen them all once during an ABC family marathon last year. I actually made a point to see them because the ride was coming to USH.

Was that the first LOTR? Fell asleep too! Didn't bother after that.

To little boys, yes... It just depends on the age probably by 8 or 9 they might start to lose interest but certainly from toddler to about 7 they would.

Why does it matter? Maybe some boys like the princesses and dark rides. Maybe some girls like Cars and Star Wars. There's no reason to put things into a boy or girl shaped hole as long as it's well done and fun, the kids could care less.

Trying to remember when I was that young (toddler thru 7) and I don't remember strictly being into boy stuff or girl stuff. Don't get me wrong I was a Ninja Turtle / WWF loving freak but I also would watch movies like Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella on repeat. I would imagine between all the Disney and Pixar IP, they feel they have the toddler through 7 year old boys covered. Toy Story, Cars, Mickey Mouse, Monsters Inc. Lets not forget about the FL dark rides either. Not one is really catering to girls.

In my opinion DL Park proper has put a little too much emphasis on adding kid stuff since the late 90s. From Buzz to Pooh to Fairytale Hall it's been a non-stop calvacade of new or refreshed attractions geared to the younger set.
