And I would get there at opening, or at the latest before 11am.

Oh, dear. I can only imagine the throngs of people. The kids likely won't make it all day without a break, so we'll aim for arriving around 9-10.

We may, possibly, go back the week before Christmas again this year, or around that time, in order to get one last use out of our AP's. I hope so!

I know Dot!!! I still can't believe it. We just decided yesterday. Well, I decided and DH decided not to put up a fight.... My mother and my MIL and SIL essentially ruined Christmas last year, so this year we said s*c*r*e*w them..... so we're checking in at POR for 6 nights on 12/21!!
The only downside is, I so should have bought an annual pass... oh well. Too late now.

Hi Kristin - I hope the antibiotics work quickly for your son. You're a brave lady heading for Disney at Christmas, but it should be beautiful. I don't blame you, the holiday should be about family, but if certain family members don't want to cooperate, you create your own family memories. I feel the same way about my BIL and his wife. I love their daughter, but she gets more distant from us every year, no doubt due to their influence. But then, I've never been terribly close to anyone on my husband's side of the family, and I've finally accepted that that's just the way it is.

Thanks, Jenny. He's still napping, so that's a good sign. He was up all night screaming from the ear pain. :( It's funny, I alternate between being psyched beyond belief that we're spending Christmas at Disney, and utter fear that we'll be just standing around for 6 days, looking at 2 hour wait times for all the rides...
I've pretty much accepted the way it is for us, too, but it still stinks. Last year my MIL and SIL wanted us to do what THEY wanted us to do Christmas Eve, and my mother wanted us to do what SHE wanted us to do Christmas Day. No one seemed to care what WE wanted to do. So, we decided to do just what you said and create our own family memories. The only down side is our kids won't see their cousins (SIL's kids), but they didn't see each other last year due to the fighting. I envy all the happily blended families out there!!

I know - although sometimes I try to tell myself that happily blended families are the exception, not the rule. My BIL is odd, no doubt about it. He has always acted like DH wasn't worth any bit of his attention. Then that extended to me, then our children. The last time we saw them was last December, at DH's grandma's funeral, and it was just...strange. I have no idea what we have ever done to offend them so...just exist, I guess.

Anyway, our times with our children are limited, and we have to make the most of them. And in the end, that is what truly matters.

Hi Jenny and Nicole.
I miss Disney right now. I am listening to Live365.

I told Joel we were going back to Disney in about a month, and he got upset it wasn't right away! I'm working on my shopping list for the trip. The nice thing about moving into cooler weather is that I can just pack our summer clothes when temps start getting cooler. I can't believe we're heading into the end of September already.
